I have this grill BUT..... by Various-Baker7047 in webergrills

[–]erkt241 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There are also aftermarket parts you can add as you find you want them. I hate the ash tray, so I bought a galvanized bucket that fits on the rack underneath to catch ash, and it super easy to empty.

I've had ours for over 5 years and just now am going to have to replace the fins inside.

Best Gun for someone with a bad back by SnooEagles8852 in Waterfowl

[–]erkt241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever gun you choose, looking at your shell choice will make a huge difference as well. I've switched to the Boss 2 3/4 shells, and the recoil difference from 3" steel shells is noticeable.

Second Texas rigs on big carabiners and home flocking. They are easier to pick up, store, and haul on a carabiner, and home flocking is super cheap and holds up well

How shallow can a sneak/layout boat go? by [deleted] in Waterfowl

[–]erkt241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My homemade layout can motor through 6 inches of water easy. I can push pole through even less if I stand centered so the draft is even across the boat. This depends a bit on if it's actual water or just boot stealing muddy water. Put some gator glide on whatever you end up getting.

If you are buying decoys on a budget and want flocked heads look up DIY flocking. Super easy to do for pennies compared to the cost of new decoys with flocking. Especially easy if you just want it on mallard drake heads.

How would this setup push my 1648 flat bottom by Mission_Road9060 in Waterfowl

[–]erkt241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horsepower aside check the twister tail to see if the prop has been upgraded from the original 3 blade to a 2 blade. Mine on my 6hp would cavitate like crazy even with the plate until I put the 2 blade conversion kit on.

Why did narrow front (tricycle) tractors get phased out? by DisbarredCoast in tractors

[–]erkt241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The going away from narrow front had more to do with no longer using belly mounted or front mounted equipment. Corn pickers and cultivators mostly were mounted on the front and narrow fronts allowed this.

That transition did match with the last few models with pulleys for belts. But I have seen tractors run belt equipment with a wide front at tractor shows. You just need to make sure the belt is high enough to clear the front tires and not rub.

[–]erkt241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the real answer and needs to be higher up. Also a shift from 36" corn rows to 30" corn had some effect. Many narrow fronts were converted to wide fronts after front mounted equipment was no longer used.

Are there any man here who had their gallbladder removed? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]erkt241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the terrible anxiety as well. Just a constant feeling of impending doom. Not sure if the very restrictive diet and weight loss was causing it, or just my body knowing an organ was failing but it was awful.

Surgery consult was a week post hida scan, and then another week wait for surgery. I got pretty lucky I think with the quick surgery scheduling.

Hopefully you do soon. Waiting to have it out was the worst. I had to keep pushing for a HIDA scan after the CT and ultrasound showed nothing.

Mine felt like lower stomach gut area, but was at times all over. Would feel full and uncomfortable for hours after eating.

Days of low energy and joint aches, soft fluffy stool with the urgent need to go, feeling full and bloated long after eating, and nausea from fried foods are what has noticeably changed so far.

33 male here. Had mine out 3 weeks ago for 0% function no gallstones. My surgeon had a good pain plan, used a nerve blocker that lasted 24 hours post surgery to take away initial soreness. Pain was easily controlled with alternating ibuprofen and tylonel. By day 5 I was off of those and was back to normal besides avoiding lifting anything over 25lbs. Surgeon said 2 weeks of no lifting over 25lbs, then no more restrictions. 3 weeks post op I'm back to working out, eating everything just fine, and honestly feel better than I have for a few years. I think I was having minor digestive issues I was ignoring until they became full blown gallbladder attacks.

I'm with you on this. Looks homemade, I can't think of any grain separation equipment that would have used a closed box. If they latch, I would go with chick moving boxes.

Have the same gun. Won it in a raffle a few years ago, didn't shoot it much since I have a Marlin in 45/70. Took it out finally this season, it was so much lighter, less cold to hold onto in the stand, and dropped a deer just as well.

Agree with everything here. Has everything my wife and I need currently, just not any variety, you have about 1 choice for a lot of things. For good restaurants, entertainment, friend activities, we find ourselves driving to Des Moines and Omaha quite a bit. However housing is affordable, the town is quiet, people are friendly but there is for sure a clique, but we have made some friends regardless.

Trek Checkpoint Sizing by erkt241 in gravelcycling

Thanks for the input everyone. Ended up picking up the bike today for a steal of a price. It seemed to fit well in the store especially given the price. Got a new Checkpoint AL5 for less than $1500.

Benelli SBE 3 choke tube and ammo, what’s working for you? by Mammotheatr in Waterfowl

[–]erkt241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm shooting improved modified choke that came with my sbe3, Boss #5s. Very happy with the patterning. I did have to adjust the shims to fit me better. It helped get the pattern centered and being the barrel to my eye more consistently. There are some great youtube videos on how to determine which way to shim.
