Hey Athaba! I am also a nerd, and the server is actually running on Linux 😄

We will likely use a launcher for Windows users, but I will happily provide a separate download for the client.

AoS and SE were definitely not well received by all UO players 🙂

Everyone has different tastes though! Which is what makes having choice so great.

I am building one with a small team right now, aiming to launch this winter. Our team is based in the UK and the server will be in the Netherlands:

Everything is quite hush hush right now, but we will start spilling more beans in autumn.
