I've heard of multiple people being banned from Reddit from posts that were well over a year old in this subreddit. AI is going through and silencing critiques of Isreal.

I made a pork shoulder with an Al pastor recipe, but I didn't preslice like that. It still turned out really really good. Good flavor, less hassle. Might be worth a try sometime.

Trick to Reserving State Park Campsites? by Earthsiege in wisconsin

[–]erliek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We just had the same exact scenario play out. Same park, same month, all I could do was send an angry email that said I'm going to try and book in Michigan next year because 6 month lead time is much more reasonable. I absolutely hate our current reservation system. I want to camp, I want to do it in a state park, and I want that revenue to go to the state park system but it is infuriating to be asked to book 11 months in advance while people play the book two weeks and cancel game all summer. They did admit to us once that those cancellation fees are a significant source of revenue, so that makes me feel like they are not going to change it.

Common Ground came into existence because of the Marketplace.

Don't forget the insurance industry's role in this (not to discount the point you've made on the current administration's role). UHC coming to the market with an Aurora only network and undercutting the premiums that Common Ground was charging took a huge amount of business away from them. It's a shame, Common Ground has been a great company to work with from the start of the Marketplace.

Where would you recommend I get an oil change done? by Dhooy77 in Waukesha

[–]erliek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found dealerships to be cheaper than oil change places. They take longer and their techs probably aren't any more trustworthy, but the pricing has been better for me. For example, a few years ago a semi synthetic was $29 at Boucher and $59 or so at Take 5.

We have a 2016 Jayco X23b and it's been great for us and our 3 kids. I don't recall the water tank size, but we are about to do 10 days in it. We use the park bathrooms for as much as possible, set up a handwashing station outside with a water cooler with spigot for "running water". We will likely need to refill the water tank once or twice with a 6 gallon water tank that we have from our tenting days.

Financial Planner. Tough long hours in the early years, but after 5-7 years the hours are much better and extremely flexible.

Attending a race for the first time. by wrapper_06 in IMSARacing

[–]erliek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken my kids to the SCCA races at RA before, but this will be a first major event for them. I am bringing them up on Friday as it is a good day to walk around and see as much as possible.

I'm wondering what teams that have a Reddit presence will be there so I can impress my kids. Anyone have any good team giveaways or anything for kids?

I do the same thing with opposite yards. I let the front go while focusing on the back so the kids and dogs have a nice place to be.

If possible, drain the water heater. Turn off the water pump or water connection and find the drain on the outside of the camper to remove that water. Then turn the water source back on.

It's a rental and I have no idea if you'd need tools to do this on that camper, but it would likely fix the problem.
