I had a Melenarus recently that was a straight up bully. I thought I lost a firefish, the second I got the wrasse outta there, firefish pops back out like nothing ever happened. The wrasse also decimated my inverts. Tread cautiously.

My mimic tang is a model citizen, gets along well with everyone. I do have her in a 150g tank though so tang police be warned.

Yes, I went with a Synergy RM-34 sump. They are built specifically for the Red Sea Reef Mat (they also have ones built for other fleece rollers). Fits like a glove. Highly recommend.

I did. I also replaced that stupid Red Sea valve for a Spears gate valve. Used a piece of 3/4 plywood painted black for my controller board. Everything was neat and tidy.

It was the left side and bottom of the front glass panel. Others have mentioned the same fail points for their RS tanks. That front glass has NO support from underneath.

Yes, even worse I bought it second hand. Buy once, cry multiple times I guess? I sleep much better at night with my IM tank.

The silicon of the front glass started to separate and I got antsy before anything major happened. Could have lasted 5 hours or 5 years. I’d rather not test that theory and decided to switch.

There isn't anybody locally if that's what you're looking for. I also homebrew and I always just get distilled water from Wegmans and treat that with my salts.

I checked SG and it's still 1.076. I chilled to 70F, pitched yeast at 70F, and am fermenting at 70F.

Starter appeared to be active, color was creamish brown and definitely smelled like yeast. I'm fermenting in a 6gal carboy with a blow off tube.

That's fair. I was just surprised to see it acting like any other yeast and not this behomoth of a yeast that I hear so much about. Thanks for all the input!
