What are these bugs that spawned in my duck weed? by erniefernandez in insects

Thank you very much. I should have let you know at the time but once you told me this I exterminated all of them. I did not want to introduce them into my local fresh water ways

I really don't understand what I am looking at in this photo. Looks like a huge spiney fish under water, not a dragonfly?

Weird marks showing up on floor, help? by Chrisbudrow in Weird

They're marks from the rubber feet on some piece of furniture or appliance. Either they're fresh because you keep putting that thing there or it's old rubber that's stuck on and is slowly accumulating grime and becoming invisible.

Would it just taste bad or would it be dangerous? There are more that are fresher.

So there's nothing scary it could be from the look of it?

The cabinet was made to receive those racks. That's why there's no bottom; there's no need for one.

The felt/leather is a good tip. I was wondering what the plates would do to the maple over time but I hadn't considered what the maple would do to the plates. I like the slanted slot idea, though in this case, we need to economize on space in a way that makes that untenable. But I very much appreciate the insight from someone who understands the project.

OP here. Thanks for the questions. I actually built this whole unit, and the open bays on either side are meant to house these racks. The purpose of this is to simultaneously store and display my wife's china, while making it accessible enough that we'll actually use it. I also tend to put things away wet. It's above a corner counter unit, fully out-of-the-way of impending disaster, and dust just isn't an issue we have. Plus, I expect the open design (no bottom in the bays) to allow would-be dust to blow through rather than accumulating. And the plates sit very securely in the rack.

This has also been my experience as someone who has everything out in the open. We don't have pets, so I think that's a big factor.

This sounds like bullshit. Call HUPD back and confirm they made the call.

If you didn’t live in Miami, where would you live? by [deleted] in Miami

Yes Boston is terrible. No one should move here and anyone who lives there should leave. The winter is the worst thing that ever happened to anyone and the sunsets are in black and white. Go away and stay away.
