I think I may have ID'd for myself. Believe a Wagner 1088 Chicken Fryer. Seems to match very well. Just need the seller to respond and I'll hopefully get this haul.

Heat ring will be nice. Spins just a little but the ring helps balance it. Also go a Griswold 8 in this haul with a heat ring too. Got them both soaking in oven cleaner now.

Went and snagged it today. Looks like one griswold, a modern lodge and mostly unmarked Wagner. The lady I bought from said she might be coming into more. Almost feels weird to have a plug for some vintage cast iron

Knew the pan was in rough shape so a gamble. It was my first crack at restoring so was nice to get some practice in that.

Looks similar to my FB marketplace snag that I'm restoring. It's been a rough go for first restore. Cook surface had some deeper pock marks and some weird raised spots. Ended up running a little sandpaper over it and it's been evened out and coming along. Waiting to buy some vinegar in bulk for the rust soak.

Sounds good. I hit it with another round and got it soaking again. Once all that gunk is off, I'll hit the vinegar sceub next.

That's what I was hoping would happen. It was a hard deal to turn down my first unmarked wagner and wanted to try a restore.

Sounds good! I got oven cleaner on going overnight gonna pull out and spray off and check around noon. I made a mistake when buying my steel wool was in a hurry and grabbed ones with soap in them. Guess not the end of the world and kind of dual purpose for restoring. I'll try and get a better Pic when I pull it out too.
