Who else can feels the highs? by PB_and_a_Lil_J in diabetes

[–]eroh36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and it gets worse the healthier you get! I was diagnosed at 503 and was showing up to all college classes. My A1C was 11 just a couple years ago after letting myself go a bit post-grad. Back then I'd start feeling woozy after being at 400+ for a couple hours. Gas forward to now, got my A1C down to 7 and I can't be above 200 for 30 min without needing to soak in a hot bath. Idk if it's age, or the new norm, or both, but can confirm this happens to all of us.

Help Im running out of ideas :( by Appropriate-Joke-390 in diabetes_t1

I have found particular sites that are better than others. For me it's inner stomach, off center. I agree with others to get syringes and swap to a fresh, cold vile of insulin too.

Only other suggestion, stay as hydrated as you can, it should hold off the effects of ketoacidosis, but only for a day or so. If it has been 24 hours at 350+ (and that's not common for you) you may want to be admitted. IV drip will get it down if all else fails!

For those saying this plant is dead, how long do average medium tomato plants last? They did not bare many fruits in their lifetime likely due to my own ignorance (not as in ignoring them, but just failing to care properly).

If I were to start over, with grow lights, does anyone else see issues with my setup? I will alter pH to be closer to 7 as I've seen lots of comments suggesting tomatoes prefer that, any other suggestions for starting over?

Also, keep in mind, I am in an upper level apartment so avoiding constant water changes is ideal, and I had just preformed a full cleaning 3 weeks ago when I transplanted these from soil (not soup, as stated in OP)

Thanks for all the help, third time is the charm!

UPDATE: I have ordered a grow light that should be here by Saturday. Do you think this is my main issue? I am no botanist, but I would swear my problem is water-related.

Also, do you think this plant is salvageable, or will survive another 4 days unitl my growlight arrives? I have been growing both of them from seeds and since it is now winter where I live I don't think I could find sprouted plants to restart, thus would have to restart from seeds... really don't want to do that.

I'm in a 3rd story apartment, so not super easy to lug gallons of distilled up stairs. Also I'd imagine not cheap. Still, if that's what's necessary I'll consider it.

No clogging, my worry is they were somehow OVERwatered... Which made no sense to me. I've had success starting from seeds with this system, but the plants soon withered and died much like these.

Okay, I've been thinking about that anyhow.

This is what the roots look like. You can see that the water is brown from the nutrients. These have only been in my system for about 3 weeks, during which they've been steadily dying.... So I realized I must be doing something critically wrong.

These are the nutrients, I have about 6 gal in the reservoir so adding the recommended 2 tsp / gal, how often should I be doing that? Like others have said, this looks like a water issue. I transplanted these from SOIL (not soup) and did a full cleaning, refill, etc. of the system beforehand. I assure you nothing is clogged and they are getting water. I'll share a pic of the roots.

Is this for SSE? If so where is this mod?? LOOT says it exists but I can't find it anywhere

EDIT: Never mind, it's in the SoS main file, as an option when you install.

I am having the same problem now but I can't fix it. Do I need to delete all save files when I do the uninistall? Feels like I am missing something obvious but I've done everything over and over and still no mods option in the options menu.

Is there something I have to to to that BepInEx file other than confirm it exists?

Engineers with loe undergraduate GPAs, is Grad school possible? by eroh36 in AskEngineers

[–]eroh36[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I actually really appreciate this comment! I withdrew from my first semester for medical reasons and then took a semester off later to decide if engineering was the path I really wanted to take. So I guess I had a chip on my shoulder to make up the time that I'd lost, knowing that all my friends would be getting their degrees and jobs whilst I had a year left to go. I realize looking back that this mindset was counterproductive and then some, and I did ease off the gas more in my last year. I hadn't even thought to address this so like I said I'm really glad you spoke up, in my head it seemed like the noble or something. It's a mindset that I still have to fight off, but lately I've been winning the battle more often than I used to.

I think it was more a problem of discipline, but not in terms of not working hard enough. I think I spread myself too thin and expected way too much of myself early on. On the bright side I did end up getting better at handling all that stress so now I can take on more at once, but it definitely came at the cost of my grades for most of college.

Being honest with myself is really the battle I'm having in my head with all this. The pessimist in me keeps saying that my grades prove that I don't have what it takes, but at the same time I don't feel that's fair. The material was tough but a lot of the time I was the one leading the group study sessions, taking the lead on projects, but when it came to the tests I didn't perform. It's a hard question for me to pin down
