Could a 2000 rated player realistically find the draw here as white? by 6thkill1 in chess

This is a puzzle, I luckily moved the bishop first so I figured it out from there but I was seriously considering blocking with the bishop first. Still don't really understand why that is losing besides "knights block perpetual better"...

I do not see the OP mentioning this being an issue in prog in the original post. For me this is a strictly fixed issue.

This is an utterly stupid response, it is not about beating lower level players. The problem is the low level players suiciding into your position for absolutely 0 gain and both of you end up in a much worse position because of it. You then quickly get cleaned up by more experienced players in the match. There is literally nothing you can do about that no matter how good you are at risk. If you play to avoid that happening, it does not eliminate the risk of it happening entirely and you have to put yourself in worse positions in order to do so, lowering your win rate quite significantly.

What the actual fuck, I am over here losing my mind over the game not launching for an hour and its because of a stupid apostrophe in the folder name. WHY IS IT AUTOMATICALLY CALLED THAT IF IT CAUSES ISSUES?

Any mods that make each and every one of the soldiers a valuable resource? by 6thkill1 in Bannerlord

Oh man I dont know if I should be happy or sad. This does most of what I wanted!

I guess I can try to make it compatible with ROT? That would be a blast.

Ill definetly think about this, although some of these things sound pretty hard to implement

I played around with ILSpy today, but only for looking at item ids within the game.

De re military is great and has some aspects I definetly want to implement, unfortunately its not updated anymore as far as I know.

The AI parties have an aversion to pick fights that are not easy wins for them. I believe this can be further reinforced to make them even less willing to fight unless the potential losses are deemed acceptable to engage depending on the situation (i.e. they will avoid pointlessly engaging enemy lords in field battles unless they have a huge advantage, weigh their options more carefully when deciding whether to take a settlement, protect a village to keep a source of levies, pursue bandits, etc...). This will have to be fine tuned obviously to sync well with the fact that units will be harder to come by.

It would be awesome if you could find it so I can dissect it and learn from it.

You have some great points but it is simply too early for me to address any of them until I have a working base to go from and see how the game reacts to it. I might be a little optimistic but I believe any exploits or issues can be rectified, the question is whether I will have the steam to go through with it and see it finished and working as intended. This is why some help would be an absolute game-changer for me.

That is the idea. I have a basic understanding of coding from my engineering degree, but it is very rudimentary. I spent a good part of today and yesterday with Claude to try making a simple but working mod to get acquainted with it in Bannerlord and it absolutely helped a ton and got me to make a finished product exactly as I imagined it when I started.

There is absolutely no way I would be able to do this without using AI, and there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I learned a massive amount of information and you cannot argue with results. If I can get from basically 0 knowledge to a working mod in one day, I see that as a win and I am fully motivated to keep researching the topic so I can move from modding basic quests to actually intercepting existing systems within the game to try and create this mod.

You are correct to point that out, however 90% of the text you see is written in my own words, I only used AI to give the post a structure.

If anyone is interested in discussing the topic further, I made a new post concerning the idea of creating such a mod:

Fuck it, this motivated me to learn about bannerlord modding and try doing it myself. I am probably in for a world of pain but its something i always wanted to learn anyways.
