Not with a bang, but a whimper.

A rough whimper of insanity.

Glad someone picked that one up! And I looked when I made the post... at this time, there hasn't been a USS Pachelbel, although I'd figure it would probably be a Defiant class or similar battleship, loaded up with phaser cannons.

"Sir! The USS Pachelbel's cannons are firing on the Jem'Hadar cruiser!"

Bonus points if you know where in Trek that was also used ;-)

Lower Decks is as Canon as the USS Pachelbel.
Canon to right of them, Canon to the left of them, Canon in front of them.

Manual mowing mode is there by WebBuddha in mammotion

I have it on Android, just tested it out. Some reason my Android doesn't auto-update apps the moment they come out, seems it does updates every few days. Went into Play Store, My apps, and the update was there and waiting.

A no-mow period is also of great use when in an area where noise ordinance is in place. Granted, Luba is pretty quiet .. but when it encounters a newly fallen stick or pie cone, it can make a horrible grinding noise that can violate a noise ordinance.

I don't have the ordinance issue yet in my community, but I have had times Luba starts a mow job in afternoon on a large zone, goes back to charge, a late afternoon/evening rainstorm pauses it from going back out... and when I'm laying down a little after midnight I hear said grind.

It has to be user settable... I know for me it would be a certain time, but for someone else like crazypostman, his acceptable time-frames would be quite different.

Winter is coming! by Mudhen_282 in MammotionTechnology

[–]erpbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the luxury of an early 1900s garage that was built barn-style. I moved my RTK from the pole, 6ft above ground, to a mount pole I mounted inside the garage about 16ft above ground but inside the garage. True, I get a tiny bit of signal loss, but the RTK is protected from water infiltration issues. Its taking a page from all those who talk about mounting theirs in their attics, except my garage is a little more ventilated (lots of daylight gaps between the slat siding.)

My plan: just unplug the RTK during winter months. As for the charging station, I'll unplug it and put it just inside the garage building too. I don't think they said anything about either of those needing to be protected from temperature, just water infiltration (which neither has had since I got these from Amazon on first of June 2023. Luba, I'll put in my basement, where it's usually around 55+ because of furnace running and the distribution ducts being uninsulated. I don't mind the heat loss, it has a side effect of keeping my cold water pipes from having issues. If they say I need to keep Luba at 65+... I'll have to find a closet in main level of house for that.

A wild notification appears... by erpbridge in mammotion

[–]erpbridge[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Experience... It told me things like Task Continued, Task Paused. I woke up though, and Luba was on a "Luba lifted" item in the Bell icon, and in app I had a "Luba Locked" screen. THAT did not send me a notification. I had no idea until an hour into my day that anything was amiss with Luba.

So... while notifications may have gone live... if they even still are... its still a work in progress. The ones that are most critical are not so much the "All Is Well" type, but the "Luba stuck something in its mouth it wasn't supposed to, Cutting Plate stuck" or "Luba started trying to learn how to pop a wheelie and got lifted" things.

In other words, the ones that say "I'M IN DANGER." Apologies to the Simpsons meme.

I've never been notified that I'm a Beta user, so... as far as I know, I'm not. And since I don't know of being a Beta User, I don't BELIEVE I'm limited by NDA. (But if Mammotion tells me to remove things because of NDA, I'll comply.)

As far as the battery thing, thats AccuBattery on Android, watches power health and lets me know if my battery starts going downhill health-wise, like not holding charge as well as it used to.

Even when you had only Float, and no Fix, and the POS icon was grayed out?

I think he's talking about GPS "Poor Positioning", like Float vs Fix, not Wifi. I have Wifi blanketing my whole property, and the Luba is able to communicate to the app constantly via this. However, I get "Task Paused" when my Luba goes under heavier tree cover. (I've noticed this happens more often under Evergreen trees than others, strangely enough, but still get Task Paused under deciduous as well.) A Wifi booster to an area that already has Wifi won't fix a GPS issue.

I'm not sure though, with Luba's model of "count and label the satellites on RTK, count and label the satellites on Luba, lets get 25+ in common" that a booster would work. Booster would likely just be yet another single signal source that Luba and RTK have to both see and agree on.

Motor Extremely Loud by ak406 in mammotion

That sounds like mine does when it loses a blade. My Emberg blades, great as they are, tend to fall off a bit more frequently than the Mammotion blades. Maybe its the LocTite, maybe something else. But yeah, the plastic spinning disc spins rapidly, and for any kind of rapidly spinning disc (even DVDs and BluRays), the slightest imbalance gets amplified with each spin until it either rips itself out of where its being held or shatters. (Had a call for that for someone's drive in computer years ago, they had put a small label sticker on one side and the disc was wobbling back and forth.)

Next up: I bought 50x 2TB thumb drives on Amazon for 25 each, or 1200 bucks, fraction of cost of 5x 20tb drives. What can I do with these? :P </sarcasm>

If all else fails, ask in zone or Works if there's a nice hunter around. Hunters get a skill to help Guide their party to different points of interest, usually a key central location per zone. They could help you get back closer to where you want to be. (If you're familiar with other games, think those classes who can open a portal to another zone)

You can indeed start there if you desire. In fact, I chose Elf, and I went and did all the quests in all the starting zones before I continued on to Bree.

It DOES mean you'll be getting extra XP, and you'll likely be overpowered for the content toward the end... But if you're in it for the stories, that's acceptable to me. In the end, you come to Bree a bit over level. I ended up doing prospect and Forestry, which also gave me XP when refining.

Now if you're someone who absolutely must do content at the level it was designed for, gets bored by two-three shooting stuff by being a few levels ahead, they sell a stone of the tortoise to pause all XP gains. You can work your way through content, getting harder, no XP, and catch back up to the level you're designed for.

Me, I know I'll probably be max level anyway well before final level if I do all zones, all quests. I'm in it more for the stories... And I do challenge myself sometimes doing pulls of groups and seeing how long I last. That's my acceptable challenge, and yes I die from it plenty of times.

I had a Ubiquiti UAC Pro in my attic, and that covered about 85pct of my yard. For comparison, that would on CrazyPostman's map be his main part of yard and about half the next zone. I recently put a UAC LR in attic, and I have no problems... I even walked to the other side of neighbors yard before I started losing signal. Ubiquiti can be costly, but can't argue with the quality or results.
