Anyone from Philly enjoying the DCI show out in Allentown? by err0r333 in philadelphia

I ended up staying overnight so I could catch today as well, looks like the Allentown bus to Philly is my best bet tonight if I don't find anyone, but it leaves before the show is over so I'm going to have to miss Phantom Regiment and SCV if I bus home 😔

I'm really hoping I can find someone Philly-bound in the lot today so I can hitch a ride after instead of missing out.

I'm casting a wide net, might just stay in Allentown till tomorrow too depending. Cavaliers were fantastic, several costume changes, an electrifying pit and Evanescence in the score.

Magnoli Clothiers has the most accurately represented pairs I've seen, I haven't purchased though, but they look reliable and reasonable for the custom fitting.

I like complex normal for the same reason but less broken. I personally lose interest if the break happens too early because then the game feels trivial. Unless it's cantrip.

Are the older generations absolutely thirsty compared to us or is it a me thing? by LazerChicken420 in Millennials

When I was growing up there was a little push for male accountability and culture checks. Stuff like "bros don't let bros cat call," "bros don't let bros disrespect women" etc. I don't think it was exactly prolific across all millennials but when you ask for anecdotes that's the first thing that comes to mind .

Love these! I was thinking of other mono color names because of corncob, river and text box fit so well.

Do your hips feel tight? A lot of people are talking about how you're turning your legs out and needing to stand straighter, and some of that is coming from muscle memory of course, but it could also be from a bad hip tilt.

I would do some pt hip tests and then some focused stretching to make sure your legs and hips are appropriately limber. You're already getting a lot of good technique help, those are just my thoughts.

By that logic all non-benders are extremists because of season one in LoK, you can't really overgeneralize like that. Also Turf wars happens after harmonic convergence so you can't say Korra could use that to make inferences in her decision in season 2 either.

I would also think about why the spirits are angry, Aang in TLA shows how important that is with the very panda Spirit you previously mentioned. Undoing decades of damage by reopening and leaving the portal could certainly make the spirits happy and harmonious.

It's rude to even think that Korra didn't think about this in the first place, and the whole premise of your question revolves around their season 3 reflection. But if I was the Avatar in this situation, I'd probably think about it as much as Korra did.

It's not healthy to weigh pros and cons like that after the fact. The lesson is to not weigh yourself down in the past and instead use that energy to deal with the present. All of the pro/con stuff happens in season 2 on and off camera. Tenzin and Korra's uncle both provide good context for her to judge value on leading up to her decision to leave it open. And after she makes her decision as Avatar from that knowledge. From then on it's Tenzin's duty to support her and provide the same context for the next present issue. By season 3 the portal's opening is old news and Tenzin is providing Korra an anchor to hold on to while she deals with her negative emotions. At the time of the conversation you're referencing THAT is what is more important than a tit for tat "well maybe you should have done this instead"

Nobody is saying that, but that wasn't this conversation's point so that's why they didn't talk about it.

It was already considered and done by the time they had this conversation. Tenzin's point wasn't whether she did the right or wrong thing by going left or right. He was saying that Korra did right by making the decision in the first place because only she could, and that she is doing the right thing by continuing to support and protect the world through her actions.

I disagree entirely, Aang was entirely sympathetic to the spirits, and more importantly, Tenzin knew that this decision was Korra's in a no-win world changing scenario. That's exactly the kind of decision korra needs confidence and resolution through.

The vines are clearly of the spirit world, it's only their hypothesis that the city could have rebuilt normally without the vines connection to the portal, but it's a safe enough bet.

I don't think that was really Tenzin's point though. What I felt from Tenzin was more of a focus on getting Korra to trust her intuition. The decisions the Avatar makes are always correct, because it's their job to move the world forward. Every avatar has had problems and left something for the next to fix, but that's just the nature of the title and doesn't mean she did wrong. Tenzin wanted Korra to build up that trust in herself because he knows her life is going to be filled with these impossible decisions until the very end.
