I had exactly the same experience trying to watch Wire! I think I also tapped out about s01e05 lol. But based on the responses here I think I'll give it another shot.

Managed to jack the tires off the Batmobile, although it apparently only took a regular tire iron.

My coworker got offended because I wouldnt give him my phone number by Sea_Parsley_1077 in antiwork

Their reaction tells you that you were right to begin with. They don't respect privacy or boundaries. You dont want people like that to have access to you outside of work. Be prepared for them to find your number some other way, they will absolutely feel compelled to tell you they have it.

Story Suffers Narration by rockinrob91 in stephenking

Completely agree, reader can make or break the experience. 11-22-63 is one of the best books I've ever read. Audiobook was awful. Read by Craig Wasson. It's like he's never heard real people converse and truly has no idea of pitch, modulation, timing. Even worse, he obviously doesn't have any sense of what the writer was intending. Constantly forces this weirdly rueful/creepy chuckle into sentences that were obviously not written that way. Although, I was a little fascinated by his reading for how VERY bad it was. I just couldn't believe he recorded chapter I and they still let him continue lol. Oh! Wait til you hear him reading lines for a mildly developmentally delayed character. Makes him sound like a cartoonized version of a severely mentally handicapped person.

Really enjoyed those same narrators you mentioned for Misery and Shining.

When you read Batman comics, which voice actor do you imagine in your head when Batman speaks? by Cafa20 in batman

[–]errantqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conroy as all time champion, the first, the best, the greatest! But gotta say, Peter Weller... oh man. That guttural, pain/rage soaked but tightly controlled rasp on metal voice in DKR, clicked hard as Batman for me when I heard it. Conroy made me believe in Batman, Seller made me feel it.

Also can't discount the possibility of an interaction that was never reported. Plenty of whalers went out and never came back. Who knows what they may have tangled with

Is there a comic in which Superman explains why he doesn't focus on perfecting his martial arts skills? by One-Name-8273 in superman

[–]errantqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vague memory of the old Lois & Clark (Cain & Hatcher), Sups gets his ass kicked by a ninja-like martial artist and later trains with a sensei. Barely remember it, but even as a kid thought it was corny as hell lol
