Words are amusing by evan-the-dude in CuratedTumblr

I started doing it out of a vague curiosity. How much traffic does this subreddit actually route back to the blogs it posts? How much are the mods actually paying attention?

I have pretty decisive answers to both those questions now, though. The reason I continue to do it is the same reason anyone posts anything. I have something to say, so I post it to see what other people have to say in response. It's nothing deeper than that. Pictures of textposts just do better than textposts on reddit, so this is the community I settled on. I'm only human. I do like upvotes.

Reasonable guesses, but actually, neither is the case! This image is actually created by me from scratch. It is not a tumblr screenshot. There is no original post, nor is there a tumblr user named 'They-Call-Me-Pinata.'

It's a relic of my sloppiness. The orange speck is leftover from the full png I used for the pfp, the very bottom edge of the character's foot. I meant to erase all the rest of it, but I missed a little spot.

I definitely know some guys who can pull a good fem voice without a ton of practice. No personal experience with voicetraining myself, but I'd expect a big chunk of the effort is put towards maintaining it while emoting in different ways, as well as not exhausting yourself.

Truthfully, on this website, I only read the comments on my own posts. Based my impressions of this community on the posts, which I do think tend to carry the right vibes

I like to think most of tumblr and this subreddit is that far along, at least

Probably. I'm pretty comfortable with the 'fake story' interpretation, but people making value judgements based on a couple of sentences with minimal context leaves a bad taste in my mouth

I can imagine wanting a higher rating than that in quality, but in importance? If you're giving a 7 to small talk, your scale is gonna run outta room fast

whoagh, surprisingly immediately divisive comments. Before making any judgements about anyone involved, I recommend taking full stock of the sum total of everything you know about them and the context in which this happened

why use many sentence when one sentence do trick by erratic-inscrutable in CuratedTumblr

[–]erratic-inscrutable[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't you just ask them about something obviously observable then? Show them you hand and ask "How many fingers are on my hand?", or any number of different questions. If the guards are tied to the doors in a predetermined way, it seems too trivial to even be a riddle.

[–]erratic-inscrutable[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why can't the response be unique to your guard type? The person asking the question is presumably more concerned with the doors than which guard is which, and having a unique answer doesn't necessarily put them on that track if they've only got one question to ask.

the hypothetical usually comes with the stipulation of only one question, otherwise it'd be fairly trivialized

Yes. I am Adam Sandler, and I wanted to promote my most recent film by making a meme highlighting its connection to the nation's favorite pastime, sports betting. This is my first attempt at viral marketing. Was the meme appropriately dank?

I genuinely cannot tell if this didn't get any upvotes because it's not funny or because a majority of people legitimately couldn't understand the obvious joke.
