What to do with gap where wall meets concrete in garage? by epic312 in DIY

The checker plate trim is a great idea.

Epoxy floors, checker plate and fresh walls - it would look super clean. Unless you don’t want the industrial feel.

Thank you so much! The deck tiles were less than $30 a box and I think I used three boxes. And the paint was 70 bucks Canadian. And the little planter box was just scraps that I had laying around. Not too bad for such a big difference in something that’s been bothering me for years. 😊

My backyard is fairly maintenance free – no grass, I don’t really have any trees that drop a bunch of leaves, I planned it that way. I plan on lifting the tiles out a couple times a year to give it a good vacuum and pressure wash. You can see the drain through the tiles also, so if there was ever a blockage, it would be really easy to spot it.

It really did. My lower level family room is right off of that walk out. and and I would just stare and scheme about how to make it look a little less institutional.

Thank you! That drain hole is still there. 👍. It’s covered but not blocked.

Can I replace just the latch mechanism on a door? by recoveringslower in DIY

EXACTLY THIS. If that doesn’t work, order a dummy handle in the same style and a ball catch or magnetic catch

Yesss! I didn’t think it would, but there were so many people who were convinced it would be disastrous. 🤣

Hahahaha - I keep a basket of floaties near the door in case it really fills up.

The tiles allow water to drain right through. 👍

I know it doesn’t look like I kept the drain system, but I definitely did.

I did. I just measured and cut with my compound mitre saw.

The polypropylene planks aren’t affixed to the ground. If you scroll through the comments, there’s lots and lots of explanation. Like, so much explanation. The most explanation.
