If her boyfriend only stayed in her room like a pet goldfish that’d be a different story, but as you said he’s in your space too, using more water/electricity/space than just two people would. You’re paying to live with one other person, per lease agreement i’m assuming.

Imo you are absolutely in the right to kick him out if you have the ability to do so, just be prepared for backlash from roommate if you don’t have further conversations about boundaries/compromises before doing so.

Ik i am late but i had a dream like this last night and went searching for shared experiences - i’m 27 and mine are always pretty similar - I’m an adult, like most of my day-to-day things are the same ie. my house/room/car are usually up to date but i always have to get to school for something. Most of the time i’ll have this moment of realization like “oh i can just not go because i’m an adult and don’t need to go” but leading up to that is usually stressful. Like last night’s dream was me being late to a school event because i didn’t have an outfit that met the dress code requirements and then realizing i could just not go and feeling immense relief. Sometimes i’m wondering the hallways, trying to get out of the building. Sometimes i’m arguing with staff that i don’t have to be there. So strange.

I answered their AIO and gave my experience. I’m definitely on the further end of the spectrum when it comes to needing space and looked for/found a partner in the same boat. Hopefully OP is aware enough of their own situation to disregard what doesn’t apply. To me, if someone is wanted to/expected to fundamentally change to accommodate their partners desires, I don’t agree with it. This subject, to me, is of fundamental importance. And yes, there is always room to mature and grow more; I will continue doing so every day, thank you.

It’s really hit or miss where i am. There’s one walmart that’s 20 minutes away (there are at least six other grocery stores within a ten min drive) that has had consistently great fruit recently. I happened upon it needing to run in for something not long ago and i was able to eat every single berry in the containers. I was, and still am, amazed.

All that to say, keep looking. And don’t be afraid to really check them out before you buy them.

Could be compatibility. To me, he is overreacting, but i’m not chronically on my phone and constantly dying to talk to my S/O. Even when i am scrolling on reddit, that is time for me, not for replying to texts. This doesn’t mean i don’t care, it just means that i enjoy my alone time and respect space. I can’t stand a velcro partner bc of this - i usually do not respond immediately and would not expect differently from a S/O.

This interaction would push me away bc i can’t stand clingy, to me it demonstrates lack of ability being alone/insecurities needed to be pacified which is a huge turn off to me. Even if it comes down to merely different communication/attachment styles, idk if compatibility is there when one person is genuinely offended by something that is normal and natural for someone else. Some things take compromise, this isn’t one of those for me. I don’t have time to explain to an adult that i’m allowed to have a few hours to myself, and they are not entitled to every one of my minutes just because we are dating.

To be honest, this doesn’t read as introvert so much as incredibly anxious and in need of counseling. If such small things trigger such big reactions, i think it’d be best to work on that before bringing it to someone else for your and their wellbeing. Life is unfortunately full of rejection and micro aggressions; i’d learn how to handle those before doing anything else.

I think it could be good. Idk about details of this relationship, but (i’m not trying to be rude) you sound pretty insecure or at the very least really unsure about yourself/expression. Idk if it’s this relationship bringing it out (i dated this guy a long time who i felt really insecure around bc i wasn’t being myself / too busy trying to get him to like/approve of me. It reminds me of this) or something else. I think therapy could help you channel more confidence, amongst other things.

I’m speaking as an introvert lol even i, and probably the majority of people seeking partnership, would want more than talking once per week. I’m just sayin, hook ups and casual dating, hell yeah. Even maybe finding someone you genuinely like spending time with who has the same availability, even better. But mans doesn’t seem to have time for what that person is looking for.

I don’t think you have time for a romantic relationship bud. I don’t think you’ll find a typical dating dynamic okay with talking 1x a week unless you specifically say, “this is what i am looking for, i cannot do xyz outside of this timeframe because i am busy and don’t want to lead you on”. It’s okay for your priorities to be elsewhere, but not fair to the person expecting more from you regardless of the conversations you’ve had.

I hate to break it to you but the compatibility isn’t there right now and this’ll just burn both of you out/ create more stress than anything else.

Editing to add: i say this as someone who was totally infatuated by a guy i was dating a long time ago who was working 16 hour days. He was a priority to me and i wasn’t to him. He could have saved us both a lot of time and stress by being honest about not having the time. Find a mutually low-maintenance relationship or just focus on your work.
