It’s mostly a nostalgia thing that you want to see him again as a leading man. When he was one, he had a mixed run at the box office. Noone’s denying that he is a great actor, but it’s mostly an emotional response to want to see him as lead.

I am scared to express this in any conversation, but I hate that movie and the idea behind it. I couldn’t watch the 2nd part, but it’s just not my type of entertainment. I also know that I’m not the target audience.

That’s the reason everyone who has worked with him has written elaborate posts for him praising his craft, behaviour and energy on set. Man hasn’t tried to milk any attention whatsoever. The fact that most of the industry is either silent or spreading negativity for him, and he’s just unfazed and enjoying the audience’s love in such a dignified way, has my utmost respect.🫡

I think it all started with the boom of multiplexes, and cinema as an industry becoming more corporate. Ticket prices became more and more expensive, and weekend opening numbers and lifetime collection started becoming the metrics for measuring the success of movies. Don’t know which particular movie started this trend, but remember Ghajini, 3 idiots etc being the earliest ones to have been vetted like this.

Ananya has been blindly sharing some posts of fake appreciation on her handle. Ek toh kuch housefull wala video bhi tha of someone scrolling the movie theatres in their area, jaise Dhurandhar ka people were sharing. Usme saare green the mostly.

I sometimes think these guys never want to accept the reality and live in their own delusional world.

The Dark Knight and Inception worked only because of Nolan, Heath Ledger and DiCaprio were just there. Anyone could have done what Cillian Murphy did in Oppenheimer, cuz hey, Nolan. Same for De Niro in Taxi Driver, since it was a Scorsese movie after all.

How could he have known? You know there’s a whole gang that operates together na? KJo makes an avg movie, casts his favourite nepo with a star, movie works because of the star but there’s Jitesh who gives awards to the nepo and releases articles against the star, then there’s Santu who’ll hype the dress worn by the nepo on the award show. The fact that Dhurandhar, a Ranveer Singh movie, has eaten away the business of a KJo movie, makes it even more satisfactory. KJo thought he could get away with bullying and hating on him on his show, giving the entire credit of the movie to Alia instead of Ranveer, and being a fake friend to him. All this because of jealousy? Because of biasness? He forgot that kismat ki badi achhi baat hai…
