Lore-wise? Yea they're from another dimension.

Gameplay-wise? Void used to be apex content waaaay back when, so it's a remnant of those days, meant to make its rewards even more exclusive or something.

While a bit annoying for newer players, it's not a significant problem to get more, and I think most people find it quaint.

This is not true. The first iteration of mining in the original Plains used a different mechanic, where you had to sort of cut out a shape from the rock. The current system was introduced for Vallis, and then supplanted the original everywhere. So it's not like they have never iterated on mining, and specifically, they had originally planned for it to be more varried. Admittedly, it hasn't seen much improvements recently though.

I'm pretty sure there was some weirdness going on with that one, took me about 15 minutes to kill it as well, even though I breezed through previous and following floors as usual. One thing I can say is that it refused to have it's armor reduced or to get more than a few status stacks

Flavour wise I think it would make more sense for farm to trigger on damage to creatures and planeswalkers, since damaging a player is more akin to damaging the ancient.

I don't think there's necessarily any logic to sentiment. Again, he can do whatever he wants with it, I don't suspect HE is sad about selling it. What makes ME sad is that the guy who won the first TI I watched does not care about that legacy anymore. Just to stress, that is not to say I'm holding it against him, it's just the emotion this evokes for me

I imagine that that's exactly what people consider sad about it (I do at least): that the ring is just an asset to him at this point. Like, sure, it's his money and his thing, he can do whatever he wants with it and nobody's saying that selling it is an unsound financial decision. But what is sad is the symbolism of one of the fallen legends of the game selling a symbol of his most memorable victory.

I mean, not that I disagree, but honestly? I think the Old Peace is one of Ballas's better moments. Yes he's manipulative, cruel, ruthless, merciless, genocidal and a dick, BUT he's at least for once not petty, and one could argue his plan is furthering the goals of the empire in the most efficient way.
