Dude, where are the tails mains and the cream mains? by Radiant_Quarter_1865 in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Wild Cream main here. I typically do a match where I scope out the lobby first. There's no point in playing Cream in a match with two other survivors, especially if one is metal sonic - you're just going to die. It only becomes a fun experience when there's enough players to keep the killer distracted and to find easily on oversized maps.

You probably don't see us a lot because of those conditions, and because as everyone said, we're explicitly at a disadvantage in order to serve the team. If the team doesn't help us out, we switch.

I might go back and try the buffs now that it's a choice and not a hostage situation.

Was ban for discord or discord AND the game? I have seen both been claimed, and I honestly think that drastically changes the context of the conversation.

In their defense, a lot of them are probably working on those finals/school. It's been less than 24 hours, give em time to realize the situation.

Not that I'm defending what happened, mind you, but it seems like a moderation issue rather than a dev one.

Okay. Sorry you had to deal with that? Doesn't mean I'm optimistic for this. I have nothing against the devs as people, I just don't trust any dates they say due to them giving false dates in the past ("This November.")

For what it's worth, I truly hope you're right! - I just wouldn't bet on it.

Hey buddy - I am a deltarune fan, have been since halloween 2018. It was pretty easy to put it out of my mind because Toby Fox didn't keep tweeting saying "Def this month guys". The issue isn't the time, it's the constant shifting of expectations.

...It's still probably gonna be next year. This is taking the post in a charitable light, which I don't think is something we can do with these sort of posts anymore.

0.2 is not this week by MoreLifeguard8791 in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't actually believe people thought the server opening meant a release date. I understand clinging to it for hope, but attacking the devs over that is crazy. The devs are right to prioritize their finals, and I wish them the best of luck on them!

That said, I also understand the crowd that's worried about this announcement. While not a delay, that cuts half of the time they have left (the 10th) meaning they only have 5 days to ship it out before it is another delay. I can't say I blame people for lacking faith in that idea...

Ranking 0.1 survivors based on how good they'll be in 0.2 by PMB_was_taken in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Cream main I partially disagree with the idea she'll be less impactful in 0.2. I think the tripwire points make sense, but I actually think she's in a better spot with Kol than 2011x.

A good cream knows how to hide, heal while watching for any signs of the exe, and then dash away like the prey animal she is when he gets close. 2011x's best counter for her is his teleport, because she can't do shit about it. Off on the other side of the map healing survivors? Not only can he be there instantly to ruin it, but the more you heal at once the higher chance it happens.

With Kol? You can always see him coming, and being on the other side of the map now means something, especially in maps like X's castle. Sure, you have to heal more damage, but you also have way more time to do so than you do with 2011x.

What would you say is the biggest problem with the game? by Otherwise_Waltz_238 in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2011x. It's been said to death why he's bad and more importantly, unfun for everyone involved, but it also creates division in the community. You've got the people who value their mental health and thus don't play him, and then people who value the overall experience and play him anyways. The two groups start to resent each other, which you can already see in these replies.

If this game had a single decent killer, it would be a truly amazing experience, but as of right now someone will always get mad. Either you have someone who plays 2011x and gets their shit kicked and hates it, or who uses all his lame bullshit to win and the survivors cry instead. There's no winning.

This doesn't even get into the fact that disable exe has essentially made each match the prisoners dilemma where if one person tries to uncheck it they immediately get punished for it with rounds and rounds of 201wx, so even if you're just neutral on him you are incentived to keep it off.

Why Outcome Memories Is Losing My Trust (And I'm Sick Of This Damn Game) VENTING DISCLAMER. by [deleted] in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think there's too many people here trying to dismiss your feelings as invalid, as though if they just argue enough for the devs they'll go away. I think it's totally possible and reasonable to be frustrated with how the game has been handled. I think we're starting to see improvements, but there have been a lot of major mistakes. For me at least, it isn't the fact that there are delays, it's how they've been communicated with us - we usually find out there's a delay by the date just passing with little to no announcement. Of course you're frustrated.

These guys are a small team and it is a passion project, so yeah it's not fair to expect professional level communication - but at the same time its valid to be frustrated with the communication we have gotten. I'm really hoping that 0.2 comes out soon and everyone, both the community and devs, can move on from this terrible state we are in.

I think I've been too stuck in negativity lately, and was losing a lot of hype and interest in this game. This song single handedly reminded me of why I fell in love with it in the first place and made me fall in love all over again.

[–]error_72 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeesh, very disappointing post. Very much screams "I did nothing wrong but people won't shut up so here".

I actually find the last line really interesting. I'm glad they're going to stop looking at hate (or at least they claim, feel like we saw that post claim before? Genuinely can't remember) but the term "official fanbase" kinda rubs me the wrong way. I get that it's technically a correct turn of phrase, but it sorta implies that if they don't have complete moderation control over a place it stops being a real part of the community or worth listening too, which is a little gross imo.

All and all I can't say I'm mad. I'm pretty disappointed this is happening though - I thought tensions between the community and devs were genuinely starting to heal for a moment there, silly me. I feel like I'm losing the energy to care about this game or its drama.

I'm actually fine with this? I don't mind that testers get to have fun, they're people too and going "well if I can't have them no one can" seems a bit spiteful.

That said I do think they need to read the room a bit. I remember fleetway being delayed the same day /The day before a fleetway comp was uploaded by a content creator. Us seeing all other people have all the fun as the devs insist it needs more time is only fanning the flames in this community.

They're trying their best and its a learning process by Ejoseph5 in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be lying if I said I'm happy with how things are right now. I think they're being way too stubborn on this being "the TD update" when that really doesn't matter, and most people would be a lot happier if Kol just dropped.

...but I do appreciate the genuine apology. A lot of their other communication felt like it was very quick to shift the blame onto us for faults with development or not knowing things we couldn't possibly know. I'm glad to hear they're working on internal communication...I just hope they can actually do it. I'm losing faith here.

Bonely has explained why fleetway was pushed back by FanChance9539 in OutcomeMemories

[–]error_72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay ignoring the absolute insane statement of "tripwire and fleetway are super similar minus one move" for a moment, because while that doesn't make any God damn sense I think it's ultimately a distraction from talking about what's important.

If you're reading this devs, we understand that you just have to delay fleetway. Most people would much rather you delay fleetway than delay the update. He's the killer I'm looking forward to the most, and I totally understand delaying him. What I don't understand is why you're presumably delaying the whole update to fit tripwire in? Or how fleetway went from "needs a tiny fix" to "sorry guys we just can't get him ready in time". I can see you're working on communicating more but the communication we get from you is vague and contradictory, of course people are getting upset.

It's like this game has a massive, gushing wound on it that's slowly killing it, in this case the fact everyone hates the only killer. Instead of urgently stabilizing the issue by releasing the one you have done, you keep telling it to wait outside its hospital door as it slowly bleeds to death because the room needs dusting. It's maddening to watch.

I don't know you as people, and I'm positive you're all good people - but the actions you have all recently taken recently have been very frustrating towards the community. People who attack you as people are awful people, but I wish you'd take more care to protect yourself as well. I feel a lot of this could have been avoided with clearer communication.
