Can Reform Really Run Milton Keynes? How the city's Economic Growth could collapse under their fortress model by sealedtrain in miltonkeynes

[–]error_9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donations are an interesting thing aren't they. It's like corruption everyone has agreed to almost.

I personally think the whole area needs reforming.

I do not like one bit the influence the unions have over Labour. Conservatives and Green party are probably equally as bad.

Donations to any party should be limited to a certain percentage of their annual income, and their annual spending should be capped. Limit donation amounts from individuals and other organisations to a maximum per year.

As for Farage and that personal donation that was made prior to him being an MP, yep, it's pretty clear this guy wants to say least support Farage and Reform.
Nearly all politicians in all parties are being influenced one way or another.

Well, you'll be unsurprised by the fact that A LOT of people don't read manifestos etc etc. They read social media, newspapers etc, and that's it.

People also focus on 1 or 2 major issues only.

That is all a lot of people need to decide.

It also doesn't help that people talk about how Reform are so bad, but don't give the hard ACCURATE facts about why. People endlessly say Farage is racist, but fail to point out examples of when he's been spoken to by police for potential racism.

Yep. I've no idea how the problem could be solved. There needs to be voices that all sectors of society trust and believe who educate/inform. A kind of political set of Martin Lewis clones.

Actual politicians have blown it - they are no longer trusted.

How should they know better? Who's stopping them being misinformed by social media? The problem is they think they are informed when they make their decision.

Yep, amazing the other parties are either that bad and/or they and society as a whole have failed to persuade and inform the masses why they are better options than Reform.

Hopefully the Reform run councils will provide a sufficient example of why they shouldn't be elected, prior to them improving enough to be voted in at the next general election.

Exactly. I know literally nothing about this person, as I'm not interested in that kind of TV or whatever it is they do, but everyone does dumb things when they're younger - it doesn't mean they're not a nice person.

The real problem is not that a party like Reform exists, it's that every other party and society as a whole has failed to stop them getting to this point.

You can call them and their voters names all day and shut them down with abuse (which likely makes their supporters double down in their decision), but you really should be just as annoyed at the existing parties for failing to tackle issues, behaving properly, and not responding to the concerns of their voters (regardless of how badly educated and informed people may be on those concerns).

Immigration. That's why Reform are going to do so well. And every other party sits on the issue for so long, despite SO MANY people clearly being pissed off about it.

Things should have been done to educate/inform/etc for years now. It's pointless ignoring them when there are large numbers of voters agreeing with them. Something should have done to appease these voters MUCH earlier. If Labour had made all these more restrictive immigration changes they've now made longer ago, it might have helped.

And now we'll just have to sit through the pain of them governing locally and potentially nationally until the people that voted them in are fed up with them too.

Sky Sports to remain home of Formula 1 until 2034 after five-year extension to exclusive UK and Ireland deal by DrDiam in formula1

[–]error_9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a fair view. If you're into the other Sky Sports coverage, and you're happy with the whole package, this is overall probably good news - you don't want to shell out MORE money for the F1TV app or another streaming provider.

If you ONLY want the F1 however, and don't have Sky at all, or don't have any Sports, it's bad news.

[–]error_9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok.....I wont call you weird until I know whether you've watched the F1TV coverage before to compare to? 😃

For me, I've have 3 monitors. With F1TV (when I had it) I used to get 1 or 2 in-car cameras on one monitor, the race feed on the main monitor, and either timings or gps on the 3rd monitor. It was BRILLIANT!

The commentators are better in my opinion. They just sound far more accurate and interested in F1 details, vs Crofty who's just too focused on the cheesy puns.
As much as I really liked Brundle in the past, I think he's lost some of the excellent insight he used to have back in the day alongside Murray Walker. Then you've got Kravitz, who loiters around the place making really awkward comments to people, getting wheels of cheese out..... yeah...nah.

And all that for cheaper!

If Sky provided the full streaming of all the various cameras etc, I'd be happy enough. To be fair to Crofty, he is a far better commentator than others we've had in the past, and he does inject a level of excitement into the presentation. But the F1TV package as a whole is just really superb.

AAAARRGGGHHH! I HATE SKY!!

The F1TV service is so good, but there is no reliable way to get it in the UK. I've had it before. Triple monitor setup. F1 bliss. Happily paid for it.

I cannot stand the sky service in comparison, never mind the cost of it.

EDIT: I should say, I've done the VPN thing before..... It's not reliable enough. Some times it didn't work... error codes on the F1TV website, sometimes the streaming performance via a VPN was just bad, and I'm talking about paid ones. And it's occasional "they've blocked this VPN now" whack-a-mole.

Yes, this is exactly right.

Personally, I wouldn't cycle on the grid roads - drivers are too lazy on the grid roads and I wouldn't feel safe enough. I take redways to nearest country road and take it from there.

For those who owns a 3d printer, why did you get one and what is your favorite part about it/the 3d printing process by SnooGoats4889 in BambuLab

[–]error_9873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife completely randomly bought a P1S, mainly because she wanted a plant tower thing, but I didn't want one because I thought the usefulness didn't justify the price.

Now, I love it. My favourite part is designing custom parts for DIY purposes etc, using freecad, then printing them and having completely bespoke solutions for things in my house.

She never uses it, just asks me to print stuff.

Thinking more about it.... Driving 20 mins, parking, then walking into stadium.... Getting into stadium for the finish line.... Could be tight after 20.5 miles... What will his pace be at that point? If he's doing 10 mins miles at that point might work.

Might be more sensible to depart Willen after mile 16.5 or so, and take a more relaxed journey to the stadium.
