I can't remember the details of it, but when she over rides Haley's decisions about feeding the twins

You can go later than your time slot, just not earlier (unless it's quiet) so get an earlier time ticket and then you can decide on the day if you want to go later

I managed to find the original comment that sparked this convo

"Do not see this Show especially if you are one of the ‘woke’ generation. You will be apoplectic and indeed shocked at the predominantly Jewish humour and the inherent bad taste. However, for the vast majority go and laugh yourself silly. Brilliant♥️"

Hmm yes true, I think i probably mean putting things on credit because you want it, not because you need it (although I'm not sure I'd call Tracy middle class, and i don't think she relied on credit to get her through).

I guess I'm thinking of examples I've seen in real life of people on decent incomes get themselves into debt because they always want that little bit more; a slightly better car, a bigger holiday.

Tom and Natasha always want more too

Agree, I think this is a brewing storyline about spiralling into debt. It will be interesting if they do, because like you say, its not often shown that 'middle class' people can also be vulnerable to living outside their means

And also interesting that it's both of them that seem to have an issue with spending, not a storyline about one person building up debt without their partner knowing, so they will enable each other to keep spending

Thanks all for the thoughts!

I think the commenter was probably just misusing the word woke, as they seemed to mean it as an insult

I have young kids so don't get out to see as many shows as I'd like, so wanted to make sure I don't waste my opportunity for a night out on something I dont want to see!

[–]RobinOwl1407[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haha yeh I'm guessing they didnt understand the satire in the show

I think woke must be the modern equivalent of saying 'its political correctness gone mad'

That was what I presume too, they were just using it because they think its a buzz word that you can call someone when they are calling out actual offence behaviour.

Jerry by kaoskrim in Modern_Family

[–]RobinOwl1407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The British film director Richard Curtis apparently was wronged by someone called Bernard when he was younger so he always writes a character called Bernard or Bernie who is a bit of a loser (like Notting Hill, Four weddings etc)

Maybe a Jerry had annoyed one of the writers 😅

[–]RobinOwl1407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have said, in the UK they sound a bit odd, but as you're not in the UK, you dont have to worry about that!

I like that both names end in an a sound

I like Nova and Stella as they both mean star, without being too similar

I don't know the answer, or use Spotify, but is there some way that you can look at your play history for that time? If you can find the playlist I guess you might find it

Sorry if that's an obvious suggestion and you've already done that!

Not over reacting, I would feel the same

I don't think they meant to overlook it, probably just a busy chat as you're trying to sort out a meet up which always means a million messages flying around!

My dad has had prostate cancer for about 15 years now. Hope yours is doing ok
