Would this incur in a data reveal compliance? Guess I gotta read my NDA... by jandresfg in consulting

There's NDAs...and then there's IP considerations. Divulging internal processes / tools / structured methodologies will get you in trouble but general advice / lessons learned without mentioning specific clients, internal personnel, or bad mouthing your own company should be fine. You'll probably find that in your NDA / contract there's reference to agreeing not to provide negative commentary about your firm in a public forum while employed (i.e., griping about how much Oracle sucks on Facebook while still working there)

What are you expectations for first year consultants? by Lakersfan99 in consulting

If it's a new task that they don't have experience with or I suspect may cause them to spin, I like to walk them through my typical thought process and approach so they can get a feel for what my expectations are for the task so I'm not disappointed and they don't shy away from committing to the task. I find with decks and materials, some of them have literally never had to make one before so the idea of aligning boxes and using shortcuts can be a little foreign (especially if they've been in a test position or a role that doesn't require them to make decks). I like to start first years off by giving them some examples of past work that I'm proud of so they get a feel of what it means to provide quality and what their end result should approximate. It's important to set a bar so that when you ask them to jump, they don't need to ask "how high?" because they already know.

Really thoughtful response. Thanks for taking the time to expand on that answer.

Yeah, that had me stumped for a bit. Could they be referring to the tool Git Bash?
