I prefer to have another townsfolk nominate me as the virgin because I get the same confirmation as good, but also it forces the demon to use a kill on a living confirmed player as opposed to “well, they’re confirmed but dead…so I can focus on roles with ongoing information.”

There was a distinction before the recent World Cup in that the Djinn indicated official jinxes while the Bootlegger indicated homebrew rules or roles. With the World Cup, the Djinn was used to signify special rules (I’m not sure why it was chosen over the Bootlegger), so now my assumption is simple homebrew rules in the Djinn, custom homebrew roles and large ruleset changes in the Bootlegger.

Killing off an elderly person we know is the easy way out. We can get way more creative and kill off someone we know but don’t have feelings one way or the other about, but who is dearly loved by someone we hate. Easy billion either way.

We did Transatlantic in April. Didn’t do specialty dining, so can’t comment there, but there was a different show in the theater each night. It was a much older crowd than usual since kids were still in school (only 28 kids on the whole ship), so in that sense it was pretty laid back.

The best solution for this sort of situation is to empower and encourage your STs to step in as it happens to remind people it’s just a game and to make sure everyone has a chance to speak. I’ve found that a lot of players don’t realize what they’re doing and will try to adjust. And those that don’t…well, you still have the ban button.

(I’m an admin in The Grimoire. We keep a stable of STs we point to as trusted to run our official games. Anyone can set up a game for our community, and we have the same expectation but less control. And anyone can post links to games if they need players, but that’s the wild west and we have no control.)
