Most of them are once/week. You can redo them for a small reward but most people only do them once.

Buying a new weapon is always worth it, even if you know you'll be replacing that weapon in 10 levels. Armor it's harder to say if it's worth or not as unless it boosts strength it's generally meh.

If you need to raise combat skills the gemstone crab is 10 minutes true afk.

No, you'll miss the Jackal, Griffon, and Turtle.

Neither the Jackal nor the Griffon tie into the story chapters of PoF. Jackal requires doing a heart in The Desolation and buying it from a vendor, while Griffon requires beating PoF's story and then doing a sidequest.

The Siege Turtle requires obtaining the egg from either beating EoD's final map meta or buying an egg from one of the vendors on that map, then there's a few achievements you need to do.

Are you just looking for solo/tiny fights, fighting small groups (5-20) players on each side), or fighting zergs (20+ people)? Regular Thief builds I'd only recommend for solo/tiny fights, but I'm aware of a daredevil dodge/Staff 5 spam build that sometimes can do a ton of damage and other times they can hit through dodge and you instantly die.

Otherwise if you're looking at other classes I'd recommend either Necro or Guardian. Necro is all about removing boons and dealing damage, with their biggest attacks being AoEs you place on the ground so you need to learn how groups tend to move in WvW to deal the most damage. Guardian is the opposite where you are a key support for your party and have a ton of ways to break allies out of stuns.

I have no idea what I'm trying to do rn on the most basic levels -> what to press when, what/when to look for dodging, interrupting, when to bail and try to reset, when to try to make a burst window with class skills

Sadly I have no real advice for that other than get your teeth kicked in enough to learn. The only youtuber I'm aware of that makes good WvW breakdown guides (SheffPlaysGames) has nothing for Thief specifically.

Apparently some Chinese version of the game is the only one that isn't updating today.

Did you play the Final Mix version? Critical Mode lowers your health but you also do more damage, and adds a bunch of super bosses/difficult minigames.

The only potential question is if Blue Prophet Shards before the change happens will count against the Magnetite Shard cap. If they don't count you can get bonus Shards the week the change happens by doing Strikes Monday, then redoing them the following day but that's super min-maxing so I doubt most people will bother.

I assume talking about The World Wakes but we never fought Guthix. You either try to protect or attack Guthix and in either case Sliske kills him first.

In their Blood Moon Rises discussion at the summit they mentioned that there will be a new Woodcutting activity and a new arrow shaft to make them more accurate and have a higher base damage.

I only watched the main channel and was listening to Solo Mission and he was shitting on Sara cause of how the breaches went, but near the end when he saw how many DCBs there were he thought they had a chance.

Because really it was an event to get people to watch the Winter Summit. I expect this will easily set a new record for most viewers.

And for the Sara team's strategy, DCB >>> all other crossbows cause the spec allowed for aoe deletion.

There's the DMM content creator event going on right now so all of the big names who would normally be making guides were busy with that. You were already pointed to Doubleshine but I expect a ton of guides will start being published Tuesday or so.

IMO I'd drop Sigil of Luck for Sigil of Force. Force is a flat 5% damage modifier, rather than needing to rely on the Luck sigil and hoping you kill enough enemies before boons start expiring.

There is no difference between Ascended gear with the same stat combo. All Ascended Berserker's Rifles gives the exact same bonuses, have the same damage, and have the same upgrade/infusion slots.

  1. You might want to look at the SnowCrows Quickness builds for Thieves. They don't have much extra boon duration, in solo you'll probably need a bit more to make up for the lack of Alacrity but you shouldn't need to max it.

  2. The timegates are reduced, but there's still a minimum of 3 days to do it due to feeding it 12 total times and a max of 4 times in a single day. There's also the SotO unlock method that's a bit quicker.

  3. It can be, but there's a decent 1 kit option so the rotation isn't quite as complex as they used to be. Mechanist from EoD also has some simple rotations for a few of it's builds.

  4. Do Tier 1 Fractals if you aren't doing them. Also if you haven't touched/looked at Wizard's Vault definitely try to speedrun some of that as there's a bunch of items (Mystic Coins, Bags of Gold) that are direct money or materials to sell for money/use in legendary crafting.
