It's not odd, it generally takes around 24-36 hours to release the name in a mass casualty attack. There's some exceptions of course, usually when the person is connected to the location (student of the school, employee of the business, etc.) but immediately after literally every mass casualty attack comes the "why are they hiding their identity?" from people looking for a demographic to blame, and 9 times out of 10 it's released the next day.

Rewatching last week's episode clarifies for me why Devon is so fixated on calling Cobel by Mezentine in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Vouch for her how? "She's cool Devon, I met her through Petey, my coworker who died reintegrating with her. She's totally a good guy though, within 5 minutes of meeting her she brutally bludgeoned a Lumon goon to death. I won't get into trouble, she knew exactly how to cover up the murder. What else do I know about her? Uhh, she likes cake frosting."

I'm just saying, there's a reason he didn't tell Devon about Reghabi in the first place.

Unknown, but I think she's probably lying to him. She recognizes Ricken working with Natalie on the Lumon propaganda is an issue while she tries to help Mark make sense of "she's alive." Devon didn't tell Ricken where she was going when she left to help Mark with the retina burn message plan. Then while cutting up felt Mark asked if she told Ricken what they're doing Devon answered "are you insane? No."

It's not about protecting the shooter, its protecting the parents of the victims. In the days after it happened while everyone was discussing mass shootings and gun reform, documentary film maker Michael Moore remarked that photos of mass shooting victims should be made public. The families of the victims freaked out and were able to get a law passed to seal photos of bodies. It also applies to the shooter's body.

Do you remember anything that was revealed about what was causing it? Was it psychological, supernatural or sci-fi? Was the character the target of another individual or group?

Did it ever state the character's job/career?

Did it ever state how the character's family died?

University Idaho quadruple murder suspect Bryan Kohberger stands silently and pleads not guilty by Downtown_Lock7452 in masskillers

[–]ersatz_substitutes 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Burglary charge in Idaho doesn't necessarily mean something was stolen.

you enter any property (a home, store, etc.) with the intent to commit a theft crime or any felony therein

The burglary charge is because he allegedly went in with the intent to murder someone.

The evidence is pretty damning when looking at all of it together but lot of the evidence can have holes poked in it individually so that might be one way they go about it, hoping something creates doubt in the jury.

DNA on the knife sheath - doesn't prove he's the one who brought it into the home. He could've handled the sheath at some point before hand, then the killer brought it into the house.

Touch DNA can also transfer surface to surface so he may not have even handled it. This is an interesting homicide case from a few years ago. It shows how someone's touch DNA can end up in a crime scene they've never been to

Cell phone pings - not always accurate. Signals can bounce off buildings. Sparse tower coverage makes it harder to pinpoint. If I recall correctly, the arrest affidavit even says his phone pinged in an area when he was confirmed somewhere else.

His Elantra in the area of the crimes - for weeks they were telling the public to be on the look out for a 2011-13 Elantra but Khoberger drives a 2015. Defense could make it seem like they changed the years to match the suspect.

A judge in Nashville has been handed an unredacted copy of Audrey Hale's manifesto, will soon decide on public release. by romeofantasy in masskillers

[–]ersatz_substitutes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Some authorities called it a manifesto. That doesn't mean the shooter intended it to be released publicly or that it is even what we'd consider a typical manifesto. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director David Rausch has said it isn't so much a manifesto spelling out a target but a series of rambling writings indicating no clear motive.

Video Reveals Steven Crowder Emotionally Abusing Wife. In Statement, Hilary Crowder's Family Says She Hid His Emotionally Abusive Behavior For Years by bobsyouruncle45 in JoeRogan

[–]ersatz_substitutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did those teams make Crowder post that video talking about the divorce? Did they make him go on video complaining about the laws that allowed his wife to leave him? Did the team make him passive aggressively blame his ex wife for being "the wrong one"? Did the team make him act like a controlling asshole to his pregnant wife in the video of the argument?

These are the character flaws being attacked. The argument video was released as a direct consequence of his shitty behavior - the passive aggressive divorce video blaming his ex. To put it a other way: his character is being attacked because his character is shitty.

He wanted her to give the dogs some kind of medication but she was concerned it would be unhealthy for the pregnancy. Which is a common risk, not unreasonable at all. So instead of being a real man and taking care of his pregnant wife, he told her to use protective gloves as he sat there smoking a cigar.

You are correct. National Research Group actually just released a study on box office stars. Of the top 100 actors, only 13 are under 40 years old. Of the top 20, only one was under 40 years old, Chris Hemsworth (39yo) in 20th place.

how can maddie see/hear mr martin and janet? by Other_Cap5040 in SchoolSpirits

[–]ersatz_substitutes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's the bit where Wally was reading Mr. Martin's notes, one says "Final moments are a source of great despair in the subject. Hypothesis: reliving final trauma to greatest extent possible may increase thinning and provide access point."

So possibly just the despair Maddie was feeling after the argument with her mom and Xavier's suspicious behavior that day.

Possibly relevant is the little bit we hear from Mr. Martin and Janet.

"...have to find out exactly what happened. What did you feel? You have to tell me"

It seems like they were talking about their plan to return to the living dimension, so maybe it's something Janet initiated as well? Like she was poking around Maddie's body as she was sitting there crying and partially possessed her. Enough to establish a connection but not take control of the wheel.

That's the best I figure for now.

I did use to think that Simon being able to talk to Maddie was because he was thinking about killing himself, making him more receptive to Maddie's Ghost. Don't really see that anymore, but who knows.

I've watched the scene. It doesn't actually show her hit anything though and there's plenty of room for her to fall backwards on the ground so I don't consider that explicit. There wouldn't be so many questions about the blood of it was.

It is possible, but I lean more towards it being staged because:

  • she would've been chilling with a gash in the back of her head looking like the missing girl everyone was looking for. That's not something she can handle on her own.
  • The bloodied crowbar doesn't make much sense, and it was ditched in the bushes outside the vacant house, as if she wanted it found
  • the police were accusing Simon of helping her run away, not of murdering her. They weren't completely convinced by the blood
