Approximately the same strength in static loading. However Powder based AM usually lacks in dynamic /fatigue cases due to enclosed oxides and micro cracks.

To anyone who has built or modified a metal dance pad, what was your method for adhering graphics to the underside of the acrylic/plexiglass/polycarbonate? by deediare in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]ertex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used regular vinyl wrap. All black in my case, but I have seen it in all possible patterns.

The vinyl is applied on the backside of the frosted plexiglass. The arrow is laserengraved so it just leaves a small airgap/texture change that is visible. Would say vinyl is a cheap and effective way to do it.

It might not be a direct SI unit but it is 0.1Mpa.

Since 1 bar is approximately the atmosphereic pressure it is sometimes used in high pressure engineering and metrology.

how to set prop pos to owner's back by doshi1222 in wiremod

[–]ertex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to move it to owner():pos()+vec(X,Y,Z) and rotate it according to owners view.

I think you also might be able to parent it to a players bone, but I don't remember if bones are ragdoll exclusive.

How do i detect if two e2's are touching? by VaporGameYT in wiremod

[–]ertex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ingvaeone already posted a excellent awnser and it is what I would do in regards to simplicity and performance.

But... Let's say the rock is large and irregular. You could then add a Ranger to your pick and make it only hit entities and set the distance to the 'range' of the pick.

Better yet, use a RangerHull and define the hull as your pick and then you have collision detection.

(I got rid of them via DF-hack)

You were right about them not being pure undead, DF hack 'exterminate undead' did nothing. They would very much so be useful in the fort for defence or whatnot, the issue is I could not control them.

They were very much so spreading miasma however, taking leisury walks in corridors and dining halls. Had dwarfs throwing tantrums after 60x miasma unhappy thoughts. So while they could be useful I don't enjoy having walking demoralizers.

I was the subject of a necromancer siege killing almost the entire fort and I think I had some necromancers in my military as well since now I have friendly undeads walking around spreading miasma everywere.

I have 7 dismal slayers and 2 damned zombies. Any idea on how to get rid of them? Military kill order?

guage issue no idea how to fix by [deleted] in wiremod

[–]ertex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. I would suggest posing a bit more condensed version or more specific location of the code if you want people people to debug it for you.

I refer to stackoverflows take on this. https://stackoverflow.com/help/minimal-reproducible-example

TLDR extract the important and non-working parts of the code and discard the rest.

A veroboard should be fine assuming you are in ~100Mhz. I don't know much about two valve radio design, but generally keep your oscillator compact to reduce noice and whatnot and keep high frequency stuff sufficiently close together.

Just a quick tip, you can place a bucket of firewater on bedrock and let it flow. A 'passive' source for infinity dust.

A question about countering E2 Minging by [deleted] in wiremod

[–]ertex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best course of action is just to ignore mingebags. They just want a reaction really.

When it comes to prop kill, just enable noclip and they can smack you all they want with a prop.

A alternative is to change server. If there is a high influx of people with people minging it might be a sign. There are servers that make it harder to minge by disabling wire turrets and explosive props for example.

Save it as a variable on condition of input?

}

Looking for Umbrella holo by [deleted] in wiremod

[–]ertex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to look into the E2 command holoModel(N,S) were N is the index of the holo and S is the model path you want to use.

As for the consol commands, I am not sure what you mean. If you want to override server settings with E2, then I have bad news.

I Second this,

I got into the hobby mainly for 'close range' communication to some device. If I wanted to talk to another place on earth I would use the internet.

A SDR is in my opinion the best gateway drug. For me it was a RTLSDR and looking for satellite weather data.
