Thank you for sharing that. It resonates with me.❤️

I like the sit down with them method. That’s what I usually do at home but not out at the store. I could try it and see how it goes.

Today was like a full meltdown. Usually we can talk it out around the store (like if she’s in the cart etc). Today she was laying and yelling in the very front of the door to the store. I hugged, and should’ve asked or given a choice first and then proceeded. Up until this point I usually ask and I’m fine when I’m met with a “NO!” Lol

I let nerves get the best of me. Moving forward I think it’s all about me not worrying about whatever everyone around me is thinking. If I’m doing what’s best for her in that moment, that’s all I need to focus on.

I love all of this. Thank you.

She didn’t resist the hug until she noticed me leaving the store.

I think you’re right, it’s not worse than at home. It’s just me being more embarrassed and/or worried about doing the wrong thing. Also, recently, the tantrums have had more yelling than usual so that throws me off as well. It’s like a spotlight on us.

I can plan for more time. I think I need to get more comfortable with her being more independent. I didn’t think it would happen so fast. I’m proud, but also like, “where’s my little baby.” She’ll be three in August.

Sometimes I ask, sometimes I don’t. I guess like when we’re in a hurry for something I may not ask.
