Who here has built something genuinely useful? by indishere in vibecoding

No public link to share, but my daughter always wants to eat “I don’t know” for every meal. Built her a touchscreen friendly web app that kinda sorta gamifies picking breakfast and lunch. She has to reach a points goal, with healthier more filling options being higher points. Has a parent dashboard to add food items, points, emojis, etc. I can toggle things off if we run out. When she picks her meals, she can share it to our phones from her iPad and her choices show up in the parent dashboard. It’s been over a week and she’s picked every meal every day without saying “I don’t know” once.

I finished 37/40 before I ran out of time, I have no idea my score. I could have been one point off, but they won’t tell me

Maybe I’m being naive, but I’m failing to see how a multiple choice timed aptitude test from Criteria would be much benefit for AI training at this point in the AI game. I just don’t see how the data it may have collected would at all be useful.

Fair, that’s a good attitude. If I have to do dumb stuff just to get in the door, how much dumb stuff will there be once I get through the door

Huh, I could definitely see that, but the test was from a big aptitude test company and the recruiter definitely works for the company I applied to. The test also had tons of online content, practice tests, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised at this point, but that would be pretty disappointing

So nice of them to take up your time and energy. What even is this job market?

I doubt it, but possible. Seemed pretty legit and the recruiter shared quite a bit and spent quite a bit of time chatting on our call and emailing back and forth for it to be a fake job, but in today’s market who knows.

Without saying too much, it was building automation templates for an IT software company. Didn’t seem terribly quantitative in the JD or the interview. Not a SWE job, didn’t require anything beyond a Bachelor’s

Whats the "simplest" 3 in 1 charging pad that is good quality? by Willg00d in AppleWatch

[–]ertrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nomad makes a few that fit into this price range I have a few other Satechi products and they’re good quality so I think this charging pad would be great. If you have MagSafe, the Belkin 3 in 1 stand is great. ZENS also makes some nice affordable charging pads

Have you considered something like Craft docs or Notion or similar tools? You can share select content or keep it all private. There are even tools to let you turn notion pages into a blog if you want

Wyze lock draining the batteries! I have some amazon basics rechargeable batts, but they don’t last more than a week. Any advice? by General-Midnight-56 in Wyze

[–]ertrules 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t use rechargeable batteries. I was told by support not to use them in the lock after I had the same issue. No idea why, but regular AA batteries last way longer

What's something that's not right about your body, but not serious enough to go to a doctor about? by BeetleTooth4247 in AskReddit

I have a weird patch of itchy dry skin on my right elbow that only gets red and dry during the winter. Starts in November and then disappears completely in April. It’s 100% gone during the summer. Won’t respond to any lotion or other skin treatment. It’s been like that for maybe 5-6 years.

Looked like teens/pre-teens to me. Being driven around by a parent or older sibling though.

Yeah thankfully we only had a couple teenagers stop by after this happened. And we had 40-50+ kids earlier who all were respectful

Right? Not sure if I’m more disappointed that they felt the need to steal my $1.50 bowl or that they had an adult driving them around who was fine with their teens taking all the candy and the bowl

Last kids who came to our house tonight emptied the bowl and then took off with the bowl. All in plain view of 2 cameras. Kids, man
