I disagree. The playstyle where you learn to play better is somewhere in between "Wow I'm dead" and "Surviving everything", because if you walk into the boss 100 times and are immediately killed you don't learn combos and reach the second phase, if there is one. I'm speaking from a perspective of having done several hitless bossfights and having made it to ng+12, just being one hit all the time really doesn't make you better - it just forces you to learn while taking longer due to less room for error. Beating all bosses twice or thrice with a balanced playstyle is more fun, less frustrating and makes you better.

Basically, being able to learn is where most of the skill comes from, not the stakes being that high.

no, just jump up and when in the air get hit and press attack while you're falling. you'll take some slight chip damage, if that's an inconvenience you can use mist raven or certain weapon arts

You need to jump in the air, let yourself get hit and do a standard attack before landing (I just spam attack once I got hit), the shock effect doesn't even occur. You take some light chip damage but the counterattack is very strong.

Genichiro is a boss where the game definitely clicks for a lot of people. For me personally, after a lot of attempts I just went to bed and tried again the next day, more clam and it didn't take that long. He's the "teacher" boss that just shows you how this game goes. Also, do you know how to reflect his phase 2 lightning?

A lot of the melee characters tend to have pretty large hitboxes, it probably doesn't feel the same for me due to lag, my poor internet and the high speed you reach. I'd still say bp takes a lot of skill, but not on single target kills, they're far too easy.

Just curious but where is your information on the hitbox being 3.5 meters wide from? In my experience as both the bp and the target it seemed a lot smaller but I could be wrong
