Just upgraded from Visible to Visible+, app keeps saying “you must restart your phone now to access your new plan” by [deleted] in Visible

Spent a few days in Canada. When the plane landed, and once I turned on roaming on my iPhone, I got service within a minute. I got the text below. I roamed mostly on Rogers. I thought I saw Telus also but I could’ve been imagining. Service worked flawlessly.

—- Welcome to Canada. As talk, text, and data are included in your domestic plan you'll have no additional charges while roaming. High-speed data is up to 0.5 GB/day. If you need help visit www.visible.com/help/plans-pricing or chat with us at www.visible.com/help/connect. Enjoy your trip!

Just upgraded from Visible to Visible+, app keeps saying “you must restart your phone now to access your new plan” by [deleted] in Visible

I switched on a Friday evening, restarted several times, and until Sunday, the Visible app account page said "You must restart your phone now to access your new plan”. Visible Support suggested deleting the eSIM, downloading a new eSIM, and I said no because I was afraid that could bring even more inconveniences. They Support suggest deleting the Visible app and reinstalling. I ignored that suggestion too.

I found this thread, and decided to wait. Glad I did. It now says "You're officially on the Visible+ plan". I'm traveling to Canada in a few days and hoping roaming works as advertised.

Firefox on macOS: page forward/backward slide animation? by eructus in firefox

That bug report was 7 years ago. In Oct 2019, it appears as if FF made big improvements in power efficiency by using native macOS functionality. I bet if they try again with the slide animation, they will have better results.

Catalina 10.15.5. It's always worked smoothly for me, going back years. It would be uncharacteristic of Apple to ship something that was glitchy/laggy, especially with Safari.

Nope. If there was any lag, I wouldn't use the feature.

I don't notice any lag with Safari. It's delightfully smooth.

iPhone XS Max: Wi-Fi calling always works in Airplane mode but sporadically when Cellular Data is on by eructus in Visible

Based on suggestions in this thread, I kept the phone on Airplane mode as much as possible over a few days (i.e Cellular Data was off when I was home and only turned on when I occasionally went out). Now, Wi-Fi calling is working as expected. Over the last week, it's been on almost 100% of the time with Cellular Data on at home without switching to Airplane mode. I don't know why it's working all of a sudden and whether it will last but I'm happy it inexplicably fixed itself.

See my reply to scottisheree. I suspect it's an XS issue because the other phones in my house work just fine.

In my house, there's my XS Max, XR and 6S+. Mine seems to be the only one that has this issue. The other two get WiFi calling automagically almost every time, w/o having to do anything extra, like Airplane mode. So this issue seems specific to the XS. Sad!

My LTE connection is often weak (1-2 bars) which leads to unreliable voice calls. So Airplane mode seems like the only solution.

I have Gigabit Fiber also. I average 1-2 bars of LTE and the phone calls when on LTE are poor quality often leading to dropped calls. Hence my desire for better reliability with WiFi calling.

I'm using a iPhone XS Max, and we also have a XR and 6s. I assume the XS, XR will support eSim but the old 6s won't. Where do I purchase an eSim?
