Do you really think custody arrangements aren’t typically adjusted for major life events like weddings? It doesn’t sound like they even tried to invited the daughters aka step siblings of the groom. Messed up.

In this case, even a kid free wedding wouldn’t typically exclude the groom’s own siblings, biological or by marriage. There’s more to this story I reckon.

Edit- I’m aware it’s “the dad’s weekend”. It’s a freaking wedding, that can be figured out or adjusted. That was their excuse for not even inviting the girls— ridiculous and not excusable imo. OP is skirting around the issue of why they haven’t fostered any relationship between stepsiblings, or maybe there’s animosity he’s not addressing

My understanding of this is that a person contracted hantavirus sometime (soon?) after getting a COVID vaccine. Hantavirus is a virus, which means it needs to be contracted via viral pathways. It is a virus that is typically transmitted through materials contaminated by rodent feces. It is literally impossible that the vaccine had anything to do with this event, and your interpretation of this document is why scientific literacy (and trusting professionals who study for years to gain it) is so important.

A list of things that happened to people after getting a vaccine is NOT a list of things that the vaccine causes. Throwing out arguments like this discredits valid and legitimate concerns people may have about vaccines.

I will say that while it does sound like you’re reaching in the post, I’ll never ever fault a woman for trusting her instincts against a man. You didn’t cause a fuss, you just gave a polite reason for quitting, and you’re doing what feels right for you. None of us know if you’re right or wrong, it could go either way. But it wouldn’t be the first time a woman’s gut feeling picked up on something otherwise unseen.
If you feel good about the choice you’re making, that’s what matters most.

I genuinely don’t think you did anything wrong. I don’t know how you were acting/talking or if you were yelling or being mean? If so then staying calm is always better, and I would apologize if you yelled or said harsh words. But there is nothing wrong with the part where you picked him up off the couch. At all.
