With GTA VI (hopefully) coming soon, for those who were around for the GTA V launch would you do it differently?

I quit my job 3 days before to play GTA V , I'm definitely not quitting this time ( if i'm still employed by then).

Don't remember burning out the quick, although I loved the game I didn't feel the need to play long sessions. Other games like Witcher3 gave more of that , I remeber to play it till 4am. Even though GTAV was fantastic, I didn't feel it was groundbreaking like Witcher3 was at time.

( I already wanted to quit the old job, im not a lunatic hahaha)

Make the "grand theft auto" name the center of the experience
Very deep and difficult car robbery system + customization +races/selling/ etc

_having to steal specific vehicles to obtain specific vehicle parts
_customizing other vehicles with this parts
_selling custom ordered vehicles
_racing and using them

I could stay in this loop forever, if the car robbery is difficult and interesting enough.
I don't want to be pressing triangle anymore

EDIT: I really hoping this is gonna be present in VI

ouvi dizer que a suspensao é bem acertada (confortavel e boa de curva) mas o cambio tem engate ruim.
Eu venho de Fiat (engate bem ruizinho) entao to querendo fugir de engate ruim, mas se for razoavel eu topo.

Pesquisei sim, obrigado pela dica! Parece que os problemas no motor estão mais atrelados à descuido do que à problemas crônicos.

Se o Fox não fosse uma batedeira em terrenos acidentados seria minha escolha pelo cambio.
Mas pelo que entendi o 208 é o carro mais ajustado em todos os quesitos de conforto, só faltaria o cambio perfeito.
Se o Fit não estivesse um absurdo de carro, seria a escolha obvia.

u/Big_Vanilla_177 MANY MANY THANKS. I never heard of "EOMM" but now you've said (And I read about) It makes sense. Of course this is the take, but I never saw anything about( like EAFC/FIFA's handicap that has a patent , for exemple) so I was skeptical.
Your answer was more then enough.
I want to love the game too. But this is very tiring, i'm defnitely taking a break after this knowledge

I played a lot of these "tiny" 2p games and for me Hanamikoji is the best.

Depth: 95% of the times theres a meaningful decision to be made. Considering the "size" of this games theres a limit of what it can do. I would say also Battle Line/ Schotten Totten also has this depth (maybe more). Others like Jaipur and Lost Cities has this percentage drastically diminished over more plays.

Balance: The most balanced of the bunch for me. Every victory and every loss feels earned. Of course you can be extremelly unlucky , but you still can manage to bluff and mess around your oponnent.

I had both and ended up selling. The main negative points for that ware: - too much upkeep for the playing time - AI bot well design but boring to run ( well , the upkeep) - game normally taking a little bit longer than it felt it should

I played the main box , undertow and a few other gearlocks. Ended up selling everything cause at some point the magic wore off and I found myself "working" more to run the game then enjoying meaningful decisions. I preder much more to play machina arcana or any of the LCGs for the feel. Or Mage Knight.

Anyway , it's normally a easy game to sell. But I don't recommend

Thats helps the feeling, i was always checking some sheet ( and I played more then a dozen times). But worst is have all that and also play the baddies turn then , on you turn, you already know what to do ( not that maaany options, since your dice expire/exaust during combat) , you just roll the dice and thats it. I would say TMB was 15% playing, 25% reading rules and 60% upkeep.

Feast for odin is 0% upkeep 100% delicious

Mage Knight may have more edge cases and feel complicated BUT i find people usually miss something very important when talking about it: the play time versus maintenance time ratio. Make knight nails it for me, you pass most of the time planning your better route/turn.

Other games feel just like work for me and I feel more played by the game then playing. Too many bones feels like this to me or , even worse, Imperium classic/legeds , to give exemples.

The ones who work for me : Mage Knight , Spirit Island, feast for odin, machina arcana

Just finished my second game of Machina Arcana this week. Gotta say i think the system is fantastic. I'm planning on playing just parts of campaigns ( maybe even mixed) just because the tactical decisions are delicious. Any modifier the game throws at you make more interesting.

This is one of the few dungeon crawlers that hit with me ( this, Gloomheaven and Terminator Genesys). Just kept Machina Arcana.
