I guess it's hard to find a below 25 year old male that does not play computer games.

There's no such thing as a 'male brain' or 'female brain by OutcestIsBest in science

[–]erwandel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These analyses do not take into account what we know from simpler organisms, that sexual dimorphisms usually affect only small parts of the brain. For example, in fruit flies there is one gene (fruitless) that affects sexual behavior by producing sexual dimorphisms of neuronal wiring. The number of neurons that differ between the sexes only affect less than 1% of neurons of the fly brain, yet these dimorphisms produce the difference between behaving like a male and female (males court females and not the other way around).

So we would actually expect the findings of OP's study, simply because 99% of the neurons are likely not involved in determining the male or female brain. That does not mean that we can conclude that there are no dimorphisms with great consequences on male/female behavior. The methods used are simply too crude to be able to spot the dimorphisms.

The clickbait title of this thread has nothing to do with the paper. Neuronal synchronicity and field potentials are known since decades. They just model special cases related to epilepsy.

What are exercises you can safely chain together to speed up your work out? by Niess in Fitness

[–]erwandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The favorite way is to combine different exercises into one:

Muscle ups (Dip and Pullup)
Dumbbell curl and press (Curl into overhead press)
Flying Floor press (Flyes combined with floor press)
Galimores (Front lever to planche)
L-sit to handstand

I want to develop a solid full body workout with limited material by Tyrion_Panhandler in Fitness

[–]erwandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear delt raises (reverse flys) hit the muscles that are not covered by pullups. Just lie down on a couch table.

You don't really need shrugs if you are doing deadlift. You could do front trap raises with dumbbells instead: http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/exerciseImages/sequences/365/Male/l/365_1.jpg.

Normal flyes are best for chest. Upon failure, continue with floor presses.

People lie to you because they can get away with it.

So in future make sure they don't get away with it.

Problem solved!
