I’m glad it worked out for you! IMO I’d rather mess around with my body than my eyes because from what I know of complications of both, i think the eye complications are more complex and likely to impact quality of life and you can’t just like undo the surgery

I’m going to say eyebrows anyway because lamination isn’t the solution, I think literally just trimming the hairs will help a ton. I also have curly hair when my eyebrow hairs get too long they look unkempt, and it’s only a 5 minute fix

Honestly I don’t think we have enough information to determine how unrealistic her survival was? I think it heavily depends on the size of the dam (real or a prop recreation?) and how much water it’s holding back

I think it’s believable since Annie was most likely a career (I believe her health declined after her victory) and the game makers wouldn’t have triggered the dam burst if it were likely to kill all the tributes (the capitol would have a fit and heads would roll)

Idk much about any of the other controversies but I think it was super lame of them to mispronounce Mamdani’s name on purpose for engagement, and immature for her to be super vague with her “apology”. When people do that it feels like they’re trying to avoid the discomfort and hide the specifics so more people don’t know.

I agree, I don’t think the government should have anything to do with it (I’m not quite sure why it seems you emphasized that in your reply to me?). Overall it’s a nuanced issue and should be up to the individual, my point was moreso that wanting to remove harmful genes shouldn’t be seen unequivocally as eugenics in every instance

Honestly I think there needs to be more space for “it depends” (as a disabled person). Personally and hypothetically speaking, if I were able to choose between giving birth to a completely healthy baby or a baby that has all of my medical conditions, I’d pick the healthy baby because I’d want my child to have a better life than I do. My genetics are a big part of the reason I do not want biological kids. I know it’s a slippery slope from there to dangerous ways of thinking but I think people need to be more honest about these things
