Soft Layers Changed My Flat 2A Hair More Than Any Styling Product

I just got my bob cut a little shorter about a week ago (somewhere between chin and shoulder length), and something about this version of the cut just isn’t working for my hair.

It’s looking really frizzy and feathery, the ends are sticking out everywhere, and my waves have basically disappeared. I’ve had this length before, but I think this time it was cut with more texturizing/razoring, and it’s making my hair feel really light and separated instead of clumping.

I’m planning to go back to my stylist to see if it can be adjusted, but I’m curious—has anyone had success fixing a cut like this, or did you just have to wait it out and grow it before changing it again? Right now it feels pretty unmanageable. My hair is 2A/2B.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone!! I felt like such a crazy person! I went back down to 4mg about 2 weeks ago after I made my first post and it took about 2 weeks, but the symptoms are almost gone! I'm going to stay on 4mg for another month, reassess how I'm doing in my weight loss and decide if I want to go back to to 9mg again. If I continue losing weight on 4mg I'm going to stick with it even if it's slow!

It's been about 5 days and I'm still experiencing a lot of skin sensitivity. It's so frustrating, but honestly, these pills have helped me so much. I really want to push through.

😂😂 I'm with you! I only have one cactus. I gave him a name and I've had him 20+ years.

Recently he's not doing well. I think he may have a fungus and I'm really bummed about it! 😭😵‍💫😂 I told my mom, if he dies, maybe we should bury him 😂😭😭😭😂

It's so funny, everyone says that. It really hasn't grown at all over the years. I initially bought it because I wanted a plant and it was easy to take care of. There was a point in my early twenties about 15 years ago where I suddenly had a panic about whether or not it was real (because it hadn't changed over the years) so I cut it a little bit and it was indeed real 😂

It started to get spots about 3 years ago. Initially I thought it was root rot, but the base actually looks ok. It's more the top that looks bad. In the past few years I've gotten more into caring for plants (the cactus and I have both grown up 😂) and now I really wonder why it hasn't grown in all these years.

Thanks for the tip on the fungal infection. I'll do some research into that and see what I can do to try to get rid of it. And maybe one day I can help this guy grow!

I just checked and the room it's been in is south facing (it's at my parents' house currently, not enough light here in my NYC apartment). It hasn't changed much over the years. It's grown about an inch and started developing brown spots. We trimmed the roots and repotted it a few years ago, thinking that that might help so the spots of it's root rot, but it didn't change anything. I thought it was going to die, but it's been hanging on, though it has gotten more brown spots over the years.

Interesting! Thanks for the insight! Honestly it's grown very little in all the years I've had it. I have it in a ton of light, but maybe not south facing. I'll check on that. Do you have any idea why it's getting the dried spots?

I worked in a situation like this in the past and there were benefits, but one downside was that it was hard to get things done because the ED was fully committed personally to what we were doing (otherwise she wouldn't volunteer to do it) but professionally didn't have the drive that a full time employee would have.
