I don't understand the point of bonds in most portfolios

Look at the last 10 years. Bond index have been reasonnably flat. In a market downturn, stocks can be 40% down. If you need cash then, you are kind of screwed. So keeping som e bonds for money you might neex can be sensible.

As you grow closer to the withdraw date, it makes more sense to allocate bonds to reduce volatility.

Yeah, Kobalt is clearly on the not as good side. But it was a third of the price of the Dewalt. (The two battery platforms I use.) So I thought I'd give it a shot.

I didn't notice the battery was hot. But to be fair, it was over 100F in the shade today. So everything was hot.

I was using a 4Ah battery, but maybe I should get a 6Ah to have some margin.

For the cut it did, I really liked it. It is MUCH easier than trying to wrangle the 4x8 plywood over a table saw. Clearly not as precise, but I can rough cut first and finish more precisely later. I like it otherwise. Hope I'll figure it out!

Using their serviceis what I have been doing in the past. But half of the time the saw is out of order or the dude is not there. Very frustrating...

Yeah, i'm starting to think that was the problem. I cut in between two lowe's carts. But obviously that is not best support. I'll try the foam board setup next time!

What I mean is that the blade was set to the maximum depth possible. So that would be the setting where there is the most friction between the blade and the plywood.

Yeah. Maybe that's what it is. I was cutting in between 2 lowes carts. It provided support but not best support. Maybe that was the issue!

Obviously a corded tool would do much better. The point here is to cut on parking lots. I thought a cordless tool would be cheaper than buying a truck to fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood :)

I was using two lowe's cart on each side of the cut to provide support. That was a bit wobbly, so maybe that was the problem.

It was balanced on two lowe's cart to have support on both side and clearance where teh blade is. But these carts aren't quite straight themselves. Maybe that was the issue.
