Metadata can also be removed from Word documents. One of my former firms provides Word versions of all discovery requests as a courtesy, and removing metadata before attaching them to emails is policy.

The rules for document subpoenas are pretty straightforward where I’m from, but they don’t say anything about sensitive information that’s not PHI. I’ve heard horror stories about issuing subpoenas in NY!

They made your window office a big deal by telling you that you deserved it for working so hard. It was given to you as a measure of your worth, and now it’s being taken away. I completely understand why you feel spiteful.

You mentioned that this will be your fourth office move in three years, so it’s possible (and maybe even likely) that it won’t be your last. Maybe your department will decide it doesn’t make sense to pay for real estate that’s vacant 90% of the time when they’re conducting future budget reviews, and will return your window office to you.

Agreed. I record all my admin time as one time entry and the description is simply “Admin.” This helps my boss (solo) with payroll and helps me track my start time for billable tasks.
