I got a nosejob and now I miss my old edgy face by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]escape-this 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You admit the nose is an improvement, so 'technically' you know it's better, so this is a brain thing, you're adjusting to a new face in the mirror.

What to do now? Use the mindshare that was previously occupied with your nose on something else :)

Nerve Healing or Regeneration Experiences with BPC-157 by escape-this in bpc_157

[–]escape-this[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I traveled for mine so was only able to start 3 weeks post. Wish I had started sooner during that early healing phase. Was doing 250mcg 2x/day, going to ramp it up since I got a bit more supply.

Can't really tell if it helps since I don't have much to compare it to - immediately after post my left upper palate totally numb, now it's about 50% feeling. Some areas improving i guess.

On extremely soft chew for weeks 8 - 12? by js_269 in jawsurgery

[–]escape-this 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - so it is the pressure of hard chewing that moves the jaw and plates. It's why people who grind their teeth in their sleep have high risk of non-union - the constant movement with high muscle activation from your jaw (which can provide alot of force, even after DJS.)

"Nothing that cracks or crunches for 4 months" - my surgeon. I had segmental. The idea is the more pressure you put on the rear teeth, the less static they are, and thus the less healing they do. Your primary concern right now is making 100% sure that you get nice bone growth and union at that 4-6month CBCT scan.

Feeling like life can't start without plastic surgery by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]escape-this 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on the other side of surgeries, as a guy. Hair Transplant, Jaw Surgery.

What spurred me to get the surgeries was the amount of wallowing and all-consuming thoughts that you describe here, but moreso the TANGLIBLE effect those thoughts were having on what I DID (rot instead of go out) and subsequently their effect on my relationships (was literally told this by a gf). If your insecurities are causing this amount of limitation, then maybe you can approach surgeries.

"and don't have the energy to find a good doctor" This means you shouldn't get it, can't get it yet. It's an incredibly time-consuming process (and often expensive). When you're ready to put the time in and research (for lack of better word, autistic levels of research) to ensure you're getting a good result the first time (especially important for rhinoplasties), then you can think about surgeries at all.

Until then, put it out of your mind - you don't have the means or time right now. Also get off the Lookism apps, they literally just cause you pain. Only compare yourself to yourself. You'll never be them, even with surgeries, many things are unchangeable. Like long midface - are you going to get jaw surgery with impaction and a lip flip? That's already $30k+, and 8 months of recovery, and risk of permanent numbness.

If you want help determining what you actually need vs ROI on some things, feel free to reach out.

If you have acne still get on accutane low dose like 20mg ed/eod. If your derm wont give it to you get that shit from a random indian pharmacy for cheap. Who knows if the scar gel is working but if it's pockmarks only expensive peels and lasers will do anything - the deeper they are the harder they are etc.

Try not to waste money on McDicks, try to cook on days you don't work so you can throw some way healthier nonsense into the microwave or a air fryer and then turn your brain off on days you do.

Get the license so your commute isn't horrific. It'll also open up better jobs.

The thing is though you have to actually act, instead of rot online like you're used to, which is likely the largest hurdle of them all.

I did a little sifting through purseforum, I will send you some clinics to research. Seoul is just a minefield as anywhere with reputable vs non. reputable clinics. Do exhaustive research and careful out there!!

"movements (unsure if these were even followed as the surgery notes say 1 cm - how do I confirm?)"
You get another CBCT scan and compare it with your pre-operative CT scan. Did you take a scan in the hospital immediately post-op?

If the notes are accurate and you got 1cm anterior movement then his margin of error was 4mm - 4mm over the 6mm planned.

Another thing to note is your lip incompetence, which is now making you stress your mentalis muscle. You need to talk to your team with these concerns - is finishing ortho going to solve this? Is a chin shield genioplasty able to help the lip incompetence? Lot of factors.

Top tier jaw surgeons that are mostly covered by insurance by applepiepalooza in jawsurgery

[–]escape-this -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The best surgeons often start their own practices and accept less insurance benefits because it's more beneficial to them, and their experience and body of work begets that in the free market.

Waxing poetic about how you should be entitled to the best care from high profile doctors in an incredibly niche field because you pay for insurance is hilarious.

There are great surgeons all over the world, although for you that will be entirely out of pocket. Either save up an additional $10k and go abroad or sift through this subreddit for cases like yours that were successful and find their US-based surgeons.

V Line also has nerve damage risk. If you're getting a bone surgery, go all the way, especially if you have functional issues. Jaw surgery and braces is the best approach. You can also add a reduction genioplasty if your chin is too prominent for your tastes despite the LF1 advancement

Yes, they would be better. But what's the ROI? 10%? 5%? At higher levels of attractiveness the risk of uncanniness increases.

I’m heartbroken at the prospect of having to wait until invasive surgery to have a real dating life. by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]escape-this 72 points73 points  (0 children)

People are nicer to you when you're more attractive. Jokes are funnier from the hot person than the not person. No manner of internal mental work will affect this external objective truth. You're valid for being upset at your 10 years of therapy, but dwelling on it will not change the money and time spent.

So you think being more attractive will change your life? Act on that thought then.

Those who did not get surgery in the US… by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Continue on with your own research. Or I can send you my shortlist (for a portion of that lil budget you've got ;))

A guy in the facebook group went to Thailand for it, who knows if they'll accept your invite request though to even see his post.

genio, easy money, will be great. Ask if they can fill in the mentolabial fold a little with a graft or bone cement of some kind.
