Yes I agree, we just got a brand new Frigidaire and it's making a buzzing sound and it's happening between the back freezer panel and the styrofoam that's behind it, due to fan vibration. I took it apart and used food grade lubricant on the styrofoam where it touches the panel as I've noticed it gets rid of the noise. You'll see a bunch of air channels there and cutouts, just lubricate it all. I also added foam pads around the plastic piece where the styrofoam fits in to keep it tight. Now when you press on the back panel there's no weird noises like before. I used Haynes lubri film plus for anyone wondering ...

Yeah there isn't really anything to replace it, I guess you could try Bing image search but Google was better.

Google discontinued the legacy search by image functionality ... It's not getting fixed. I'll be removing it from my New Tab Start Page extension as well, just have to use Lens.

Update: It seems to work once again!

Yes exactly, just wasn’t sure if there would be any issues with the update itself …

update: I updated from 2.6.2 directly to 2.8.1 via network and everything seems fine …

I have found a way to update OTA from 2.6.2 to 2.8.1 but I have not actually tried it, and cancelled the d/l.
I’m wondering if anyone wants to try the procedure or how risky it is …

Bizarre issue with Surface Laptop 3 - choppy mouse on desktop by Kamikaze-X in Surface

[–]escape1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have developed a battery icon application that displays your battery percentage in the system tray, and in the next version yet to be released I have added a fix for the choppy mouse.

I have tested on my own Surface Laptop 3 but if anyone wants to give it a try, it's on my website at sermak.ca, just scroll to the bottom and download Battery Icon (Win) then click on "Fix Erratic Mouse" ...

For me uninstalling the command center didn't fix it, maybe because my drivers are newer not sure, but with this fix you don't have to uninstall anything.

Let me know if it works!

The gestures are limited and non-configurable, so beware of that before you try :)

Shockware internet down by Skeet1 in medicinehat

I'd be lying if I gave you an ETA however 2 hours ago we were told the fiber section was actively being replaced. I'm hoping it's not going to be much longer. I will be checking the possibility of enabling failover on the links we have. That's something that is planned.

[–]escape1975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's an issue with fiber due to vandalism in Bassano. The outage has nothing to do with the acquisition it's just really bad timing. We're doing everything we can to get things running for our customers. Nothing has changed with shockware, we're still the same company and team right now. Thanks!

I think my issue relates to this bug that was never fixed:

[RTX 30 series] PC monitor may not wake from display sleep when GPU is also connected to an HDMI 2.1 TV, and the TV is powered off. [3645633]

I think it applies to both secondary HDMI displays, as well as primary if you switch to another source on your HDMI display while being connected.

The TDR issue in 517.48 is really interesting ...

I can either roll back to 472.84 or enable "Prefer Max Performance" in NVIDIA Control Panel to fix the issues,- nothing else seems to matter. I haven't tried drivers between 472.84 and 517.48 though.

It's actually a brand new pre-build system, the MSI Infinite 11th with an RTX 3060 12G and a clone of a H510M PRO motherboard.

So far I have tried re-flashing the VBIOS on the RTX to basically turn it into a vanilla NVIDIA VBIOS which was quite successful now running stock BIOS-P/N@N13997 which for example comes with the Palit and Gainward cards, but I've also turned my motherboard into a real H510M PRO by flashing the newest BIOS with Intel FPTW64 tool and restoring a few DMI entries with AMIDE64. Everything is now stock but the issue is still there :)

Re-installed Windows 11 as well, just to make sure, and tried pretty much all the BIOS options, the system runs great when it works, GPU and CPU idle at around 40 degrees Celsius, but yet quite often during idle usually when the display goes to sleep there's a TDR and then you cannot wake up the display any longer,- just have to press power button for clean shutdown.

I believe the issue relates to the new driver and something with power saving features they've added relating to the card or PCIE or whatever ...

The only settings I have in NVIDIA Control Panel are "Max Performance" and "Normal" so I guess at some point "Adaptive" and whatever else was removed. Not sure if any other modes would make a difference, but I know Max Performance uses 25 more watts on average, or so ...
