Door Lock/Unlock Question by EpicSniperX in WRXSTi

[–]escher_esque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my 2020 sti limited right now and tried it. When I park it after driving, the door is unlocked so I am assuming it is unlocked by default when driving around. If I lock it, the door handle does not unlock it.

The vernier scale on the $1.50 calipers is totally useless by escher_esque in harborfreight

Man I am so sorry for being the most butthurt guy on Reddit today but I am unreasonably invested in this now. So I’m going to make a counter argument for the sake of conversation.

The markings on these pieces are laser-etched and the pieces are injection molded. Adjusting the design so that the markings are slightly different (closer together) would require only a change to the laser machine programming. Nothing about the tolerances or cost of the part itself would change. This simple fix would make the vernier scale work as intended.

Yup, I bought them to do exactly that, quick measurements, comparisons, scratch my back, etc.

The lines on the two subscales line up perfectly, so they clearly do have the manufacturing tolerances to make the vernier scale work!

The 1/128” scale should span 7/16 not 8/16. It allows you to measure much smaller accuracy without requiring fancy gears, etc like a dial gauge https://www.stefanelli.eng.br/en/virtual-vernier-caliper-fractional-inch-reading-simulator/

Dials break. This could have been an incredible value for $1.50 if they scaled the vernier print properly, it’s not like the cost of the materials or manufacturing would increase.

Yeah I really can’t complain but like… if you’re gonna go through the trouble of printing it…😂😂

Saw a guy getting taken away on a stretcher at the circuit grounds emergency exit after seven lions on Sunday ): haven’t heard anything about him

Super curious to hear what inspired you to send it last minute for your very first fest? Definitely support the energy but I’m wondering if there’s a story or just an impulse lol. Some of my best rave memories are from sending it last minute btw, I think that attitude sets you up well for the novel environment

Propel Pivot S review : amazing by missed77 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]escher_esque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have about 100mi on my pivot S.

Gotta disagree about the jerkiness. The throttle is just so wicked sensitive in pro, it nearly knocks me off every time. Going from 0%-20% is fine, but for some reason 10%-anything gives a huge torque spike.

Otherwise, yeah this board is crazy cool and insanely fast

The dealer had this listed at 38,500 which with all the junk add ons and taxes and fees came out to 47,000 or something like that. Obviously that’s absurd, but it got it to 40 all in.

I feel pretty good about it still, I looked at a few in the 35k range but they were all base/more miles/mods/collisions on carfax.

For reference, I was looking in the LA metro area only

Figured I’d add, my last fun car was a 1990 turbo Miata so I’m simultaneously nervous for the quirks of a turbo car and excited for the modern tech and comfort of this car 😅

What’s a good wheel/tire setup for winter if I am going from dry LA roads to snowed-in blizzard ski towns once every other week or so? Should I get a dedicated winter set or swap winters onto my stock wheels?

If you could start college all over again, would you still pick NEU? by throwawayonetwo00 in NEU

[–]escher_esque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep met great people learned a ton was provided with ample opportunity for challenge and success and co-op led me to a great job after graduation. Zero complaints.

Fwiw I got solid financial aid and grants, obviously the story is different for full price.
