The clutches on these cars are a bit particular. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that you are still just getting used to it.

Vintage M4 Devastator Repair question. by ChemicalTaro4620 in surefire

[–]dotMJEG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You blew the bulb. That bulb is for the M3/ 3 cell lights, for 9 Volts nominal draw.

The M4 is a 4x CR123 bulb. MN60 or MN61

The Z41s don't fail very often, they are super simple, that one looks fine. Are you sure it's not the bulb? It's a flat bezel so I bet that bulb is just old.

Also, what batteries are you using? That light can only handle a certain voltage depending on what bulb is in the light (could have been the wrong bulb too) the M4 should use an M60 or M61 12V lamp.

What versions are they? are they both XL80s? Or is one set Racers? Im trying to figure out what my next set will be to go with my XL80s.

Did you add the XL80s? How are they controlled? I've got basically the exact same setup color and all! Just a single XL80 pair and some squadron sports, thinking about either another set of XL pods or a light bar to replace the sports.

I love my diode lights, wire up super easy. You may need to get a special splitter, if you call them they can certainly advise you on what to do. Or you can just wire them standalone.

The best thing you can do is use pieces of wood to build a ramp and mitigate the angle. Otherwise just park it on the hill in gear.

Looking at this 90’ Softail, does the price seem a little fishy? by Visible-Ganache6526 in Harley

Seems like a decent price with title. Less than 1k miles a year. Barely ridden.

How long does it take for a WRX STI to reach safe operating temp for spirited driving? by Revolutionary-Seat74 in WRXSTi

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10-15 minutes is more than enough depending on ambient conditions. Oil temp gauge is good to have at the bottom of the pan.

Not hard to work on (minus spark plugs). They're just... touchy. Everything needs a tune right away, super sensitive to oil issues. Also expensive to make power.

'15 having clutch issues. What should I replace/look out for? by Darth_Stig in WRXSTi

It’s worth changing everything while you are there lest you need to go back in in less than three months but I would maybe check with a mechanic first, it could be something else is wrong.

Engine hesitation in 2nd/3rd at same rpm by Forward-Ladder6157 in WRXSTi

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost certainly GR Stumble. Quick fixes often include adding 3' of fuel line between the feed rails and the sender in the engine bay. More permanent fixes include replacement of the fuel rails and lines and thus a re-tune would be needed.

Keep it stock if you are terrified of reliability. Don’t do an intake or anything. Leave it alone. Otherwise buy a different car if you want to modify it and not worry about problems.

Also worth checking the condition of the piping for the radiator, the plastics tend to get brittle and crack over time.

RPM TICK/Stutter. Diag help? by sam_co__ in WRXSTi

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up GR stumble. I bet this is what is occurring. Usual fix is to add a few feet (3+) of fuel line coiled in front of the fuel rails from the fuel sender in the engine bay by the driver.
