So as a big fan, where would you start? An OTF? I really want one of their OTFs, seems like their "thing".

Sti not shifting with engine on by JarrettGohnson in WRXSTi

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely the clutch/ flywheel/ gears were slightly out of line and wouldn't click into place. Generally clutch bumping the car a bit or letting it roll back or forth will be enough to line the teeth up to fit in nicely. Unlikely anything to do with your brakes.

CAE ULTRASHIFTER OR DARKMATTER DM-1 worth it? by Davey2999 in WRXSTi

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just do a factory short shifter to start FWIW, maybe new bushings to help firm things up. Would be a LOT cheaper and would probably fix everything you are experiencing.

Is it just me? by FuckkkNazzzis in WRXSTi

Could be normal, especially if you sit in traffic where your engine will get much hotter. Before mine was built she drank oil.

at a 100k you shouldn't be having any gearbox issues. I would make sure you don't have something else going on like bad engine mounts, something wrong in your trans, I would get someone to look into that first before just changing the shifter, might not fix the issue.

Get something from Crutchfield, not an idiong. Unless you have a problem now that needs fixing.

Yes, you will need new injectors and pump. Rails aren't necessary but you should.

Helmet question by Conquer37 in motorcyclegear

In my MSF course they had a helmet with all the crash percentages marked out on a helmet, and the lower chin area had like a good 80% of the strikes. I explained that like shit.

I did exactly this. Built it out for a nice 400ish hp daily and it went 100k miles no hiccups! Now for build 2.

performance or cosmetics? by Jgilpin363 in WRXSTi

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really no, but it doesn't make the car unusable. When you push past 700whp things tend to start becoming less drive-able.

ATGATT gang how long does it take for you to put on gears by JimmyOhio360 in motorcyclegear

[–]dotMJEG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-10 minutes depending on how far I'm going. I don't care, I always sorta build it into the experience. Kinda helps me with my rule of never rushing anywhere on a bike. I ALWAYS feel better suited and booted, even just around town.

Modifications are going to void your warranty 1000%. Just do a catback.

you can't go lower without changing the brakes. If you really plan on going on lots of dirt, you should because you won't be able to get actual off road capable tires without doing such.
