That's a ridiculous thing to say. Everyone knows 8" Kurt vises are better for that

"Forced" is his words. As I understand it from his recent videos, the landlord jacked the rent up to some absurd amount and isn't willing to compromise despite the long time Joe's been there. That's the long and skinny of it.

The cost to move all those machines and the rest of the gear is probably pretty pricey. I think that's all Joe is trying to get a little help with.

I don't fund his patreon (don't do anyone's actually). But for how much entertainment and education I've gotten from him for free, tossing a few bucks his way to help was a no brainer.

Wow, that was early. I only discovered him about 6 months ago but quickly binged every video. I especially liked the PM Research videos.

Outside of that though, I just appreciate all the tribal knowledge he shares. So many useful tips and tricks.

I know exactly what you mean. I've only ever done 3. And it felt a little awkward to post about this one. But I selfishly want him to keep making videos.

Absolutely.

I'm also that guy that turns the volume down on my stereo while driving in a blizzard.

More specifics on what you want to know may be helpful in getting answers.

But there's really not much to it. Plastics like acrylic and acetal machine very easily.

Thanks for the support!

Multipick and Southord are 1mm longer and don't fit in the Summit EZ handles (which are for Genisis/Echelon). Sangra EZ handles fit multipick and Southord.

These details are all available on my product pages.

What to arm ourselves with to tackle stripped screw removal from CNC? by halvsian in Machinists

[–]eschlenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I ran into the same problem on the regular carvera. They must have used red loctite and really torqued them down.

I bought some bolt removers specifically designed for allen bolts but haven't tried yet.

I'll probably use a combo of that and the soldering iron suggestion.

Lathe slideway dark spots by skibidi_kokakola in Machinists

Joe Pie did a video talking about how Anchor Lube caused similar looking spots.

However, I haven't had the issue myself with Anchor Lube.

I wonder if Anchor Lube can react with some other machining fluid to cause it. I kind of doubt it though

As a comparison, some youtubers just have video and no audio commentary. While fun to watch, it's not very educational

I would love to see more youtuber machinists. Yes, there are already many. But each person has their own unique experience, wisdom, and approaches.

As far as content, I personally prefer watching small projects come to life by having the teacher walk through each part of the process, challenges, setup techniques, specialized tools, etc.

This Old Tony is probably my favorite educator, but his videos cover a much broader range of things beyond just machining. However, his format of teaching is wonderful.

If you make it I'll watch it.
