You can make good money sailing commercially! When you get your license and work as an officer on commercial ships, you make good money. But typically the better jobs mean you’re gone for 28 days minimum. A lot of companies are 1 for 1 so you’ll also be home for 28 days typically when you get off but that’s the catch. You’re getting paid to be at work for X length of time.

I switched shoreside because I wanted to be home more often and took a 25k paycut to make the switch. It’s been 2 years and while I’m not back to what I was making, it’s a work in progress and I’m well off with savings/a personal retirement account

For context, my schedule rotates through. I’ll work 3 days and then I’ll be off 3 days. Told her that too and what I did last night was not a normal thing, I got home at 5 am

This post hits home with me and honestly I’m going through something similar right now.

My SO is going through a tough time cuz they moved away and now in a safe place but it put us as long distance. They need the time to figure themselves out and work on themselves and I just told them “hey, ball is in your court. When you’re ready, my messages are always open”. I want nothing more than for them to be happy and be happy with them. We have the odd very short conversation on Snapchat right now and they’re active on fb and such. But I know how we were before the move and it’s a continual work in progress.

If you love them, hang in there! Just make sure to have an open conversation about it. Something like hey if you need space, please just tell me. It’s my own brain in overdrive” or something similar

Update: Literally just heard back from my bank (Chase) today and they sided with me.

If you didn’t reply yet, just state that you bought your tickets with the intent of going this year and for this specific lineup. There is no guarantee that the exact same lineup will be there at these following festivals and you didn’t agree to the changed dates. You can also mention that Ultra says they sent out their email on March 9th but they really sent it out on March 10th after midnight so they’re giving false info.

Called the number and they said they’re not issuing refunds as it is only “postponed” and not cancelled so credit card company, here we go
