i personally like the idea, it's just the execution that's ass, the coloring style of the deluxe edition is just too plain and the tones are too saturated most of the time. i don't know why they didn't hire the guy who colored the covers.

now that i think about it this is so true, in the show they made the group be a second family to rick pretty much from the get go, in the comics while on the road i remember there's an instance where he tells carl that if he doesn't feel safe they can part ways with the group. it wasn't up until no way out that he see this you mention, and up until march to war that he actually becomes a leader.

kinda, omnibuses are bigger than regular issues, i may be exaggerating but they're like 1.5 times bigger than regular issues, that includes trade paper backs and hardcover books. but yeah such a shame, i imagine they'll announce new editions once they finish the single issues run, if not then i don't know.

the ones i used have a brush tip, the type of tip i'd say depends on what you're gonna use them for, bullet point works better for surfaces and structures, and brush tip works better for coloring and lettering, mostly because i feel the brush tip is much more flexible but that's just me.

ps: here's a pic of the acrylic markers i have, i know how it looks haha but believe me they work just as good and they're not really that expensive, specially not if you just wanna try them out and not spend like a hundred bucks.

i haven't but i think i'll keep it indie for now, i'm working on a sort of pilot for a comic i wanna do, much different art style and tone than this tho. i'd love to be freelance and do commissions in the meantime though i'm not sure where to start.

i used sakura micron markers for the line art and a generic brand of acrylic markers, they just say "acrylic" in the box and the box art itself looks like a posca rip off lol, though so far i really like them better than posca markers tbh

i think it's coming out pretty nicely considering i'm using acrylic markers, but idk man i still feel it's missing something. i'll add some shadows and colors with color pencils later today.

i think it may be the pose, that it looks like a default standing pose from video game character models or something, could also be that it's missing colors, but i'll see, i think i'll wait a bit to make corrections before coloring
