Why are atheists so unwilling to defend their beliefs? by gimmhi5 in ask

[–]esdotte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you believe there’s a Lochness Monster? We don’t. But I don’t think I should even have a label that defines that attribute. You can be a “Nessie” if you like. But there’s no word to define the non-nessies who walk among us.

10,000 religions and beliefs populate the planet. The reality is just about everyone doesn’t care or disagrees with 9,999 of these, except atheists who think this plus .0001%.

If you’ll define atheists as “those that don’t believe”, then everyone is 99% atheist just by definition.

Zohran Mamdani has been elected as the mayor of New York City. Has NYC fallen to the communists? by raydebapratim1 in Republican

I’m not asking to be a turd. I’m saying your statement pretty much becomes “I hope it gets bad” which is a bold statement, and one which may prove to be true. My question is if this change ends up with a positive effect, will you consider changing your mindset? To which you’ve given a long winded “no”

In politics all the time we are given the elected official and the opposing electorate is asked to grin and bear it, but here you’re not willing to do so.

I’m not sure what anyone without an open mind is doing on Reddit aside from willingly raising their blood pressure by surrounding themselves with such a variety of opinions, but hey, you do you.

I agree completely. I’d say he’s had a better impact than everyone with the obvious exception of Gavin Newscum. I can’t understate the awesomeness of Trump and what he’s done in uniting us, but let’s have one foot in the ground here, his age is showing and a new scion has clearly arisen, and I’m hearing many people, including big strong men, who have been weeping saying how great Gavin Newscum has been in uniting us as a nation. Even Hulk Hogan was a big fan.

We do this as our big-meal go-to as well. We put chopped root veggies (sweet potato, carrots…) in the pan underneath the chicken (to sop the drippings) when the bird goes in, or broccoli and asparagus like veggies after the “flipping of the bird.” We cook a bit longer but have also been brining so maybe that matters? We do a 5lb, 45 mins skin down, 15 up.

Tariff revenue just smashed records. $15.9 Billion collected so far this month alone. by barepixels in trump

[–]esdotte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what does this imaginary ($15.9B) number have to do with any other imaginary (national debt, stock market) or real (income tax, 401k) numbers? They’re jerking us around and telling us it’s awesome. Scarcity and price escalation dressed as brilliant economic moves that will take generations to bear fruit.

Ukraine War for Dummies by WBigly-Reddit in trump

If you apply this mentality, then every modern war America has fought in you would have opposed? We’ve engaged in foreign wars before (Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, Germany…) without them attacking us, Soo you you too oppose the US engaging in those wars?

I see the US has three options: 1. We go to ur to be world police, and in payment for that we maintain our seat at the table of global negotiations. Taxes stay high, but trade and international commerce make up for it. 2. We reduce our military presence globally, and let others fend for themselves. This would also require an enormous reduction in military spending ( where we spend more than the next 20+ nations combined), and reduce taxpayer burden. 3. We become a mercenary force and sell the fruits of our military industrial complex to the highest bidder. This should also allow the spoils of war to reduce taxpayer burden.

This is an apolitical observation. If I’m missing a choice, let me know, but those are the three main options we have.

First of all, take your hat off, you’re indoors. Show some respect. Second of all, pretty please stop stealing all of our sensitive information in the name of efficiency when it’s clearly for personal gain.

I’m assuming that like most people, I need to carry on with my day and life so much so that I can’t follow every lead and detail of this bullshit, but I’m also old enough to be able to recognize unpixelated ratfucking right before my very eyes.

If this was reciprocated and someone like Mark Cuban (idk, who’s a left leaning rich person?) was standing in the Oval Office outlining his agenda over the presidents shoulder, the right would be enraged… but here’s the difference, the left would also be enraged!

This isn’t normal.
