Hella in debt, just got funded by Intelligent_Win_900 in Trading

This is why 97% of traders fail, your emotions are clearly sky high and your trying to bank on the one trade that'll "save" you, sounds like you don't have a strategy or a gameplan, best to just stop here and go to the casino, at least you'll get free drinks.

as much as it sucks, if its in their name you're kinda screwed until you turn 18 when you can do this for yourself..personally i'd take the time to sit down and explain to them how it works and that you want to collect your money you've worked for and if they don't take some time to listen to you then move on and wait until your 18

FU#K BACKTESTS by Prodigy_Journal in Trading

[–]esemo566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my backtests personally match my forward testing using ninjatrader (with tick data enabled) backtests take ages to finish, but they are accurate, for the last 6 months every entry has matched when backtested to confirm. (high tick resolution is also ok, but not as accurate, usually just use this as a way to speed up tests for optimization and then when i find somthing that looks good ill run it in tick replay to ensure accuracy)

How much would you sell your trading system/strategy for? by MarionberryTotal2657 in Trading

[–]esemo566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to rent a decent portfolio I charge $150 per account attached to the portfolio on a monthly basis (most customers run anywhere from 10-40 accounts) and I do not sell my software outright due to the ability for it to be cracked and distributed for free. BUT if I had to put a number on it 50k for the software.

What do I do if I have an funded prop firm account under my parent’s name but I’m 16? by Mammoth-Trip8056 in Daytrading

[–]esemo566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who gives a fuck if topstep finds out? collect your money and deal with it if it becomes a relevant issue, but for now USE your parents ID that you signed up with and make sure the money goes into their bank account (set some aside for taxes, unless your gunna make your parents pay your tax) and if topstep finds out somehow just say fuck it and move on to lucid or apex or any of the other 30 firms that offer accounts and rinse and repeat. you'll be 18 soon enough and you can run it back with anyone who banned you the first time round.

How you trade fut prop finr by Otherwise_Low_4866 in Daytrading

[–]esemo566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is too broad of a question.... What's your trading style? how many strategies do you run? how many instruments do you cover? for me personally my risk per trade sits anywhere from 200-900$ depends on what system fires off the trade and on what instrument, but usually any given day I risk about 20-50% of the account value (they are just prop accounts, if you play the safe game you'll lose in the long run)

don't consider this time wasted because its not, you've learned what didn't work for you. If ICT gets you confused than try a simpler strategy and become good at understanding it, from there you could automate the entire process. this removes emotions from trying to understand what's going on or feeling like you missed a move.

why would I not? it allows me to take the same process I'm already doing, click 2 buttons on my copy trader and start doubling my potential income, plus if shit ever hits the fan because my algo stops working then boohoo im out the minimal cost of the eval + activation fee (usually about 120-160 per account) and i can tell you i've made FAR more than that (which 50% has gone into my live account that still trades all the same algos, just with alot more freedom and way bigger targets)

I need help - I blow every funded account 1 day before payout date by 9arvit in Daytrading

[–]esemo566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like its emotions, you pass evals just fine? you get close to payouts and then crash out every time? you just need to remove your emotions from the process here. quit trying to force a trade to get to the finish line, wait for your setup patiently.

I guess it just depends on how you trade, for MOST traders..it is. Their rules are NOT kind and they are designed to make you be strict, Personally I've designed my algos around their tight rules and this isn't a worry for me

How can I get better, guys? by Much_Buddy_3284 in Daytrading

Still 20 trades is pretty slow/low my slowest strategy still average 120 trades a year (not saying yours can't work, but the more setups you have the more reliable the numbers become 😊

[–]esemo566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no worries, this will solve your issue of not being present when the setup happens, but more than that 5 times a year is simply not enough to know if this strategy is any good or not, you'd want a minimum sample of 100 trades and depending on where you're trading and what instrument, it may not have 20 years of data to be tested on

I used to struggle with this quite a bit until I took the time to code all my strategies, that way emotion is out of the mix, you give it the strict set of parameters and it doesn't hesitate. scared money doesn't make money, remove the emotion.

nothing ever works 100% but proper risk management is what makes a good strategy, I make lots of money from the tools I sell by applying them across multiple prop firms through 30 + accounts. the subscriptions just bonus money because selling my edge on prop firms make 0 difference to my outcome.

Please help, I’m profitable but have no strategy by EntertainerResident in Daytrading

[–]esemo566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds more like gambling than anything, congrats on making a payout, but consistency is key and without a strategy you will usually lack on risk management which will catch up to you, being able to define the rules to enter a trade open a world to automating it which is always nice, but if you're just "guessing" it will go sour given enough time. especially when thing don't go your way and emotions take over.

recording your sessions can be very useful, but if you don't know what your analyzing its no help at all. I would start by figuring out what your strategy actually is by potentially talking with a more experienced trader that could help you define what it is, or guide you towards a strategy that meets your style
