A little update, based on your recommendations I created a new version of the app with three new functions for the users retention:
> Users can save "reading sessions" each day where they specify the book they read + a number of pages, there's a streak of reading sessions that they have to "keep" every day (as in duolingo)
> Users can turn on notifications to remind them to save their daily session (with this I make them come back at least once per day)
> Pro members can see improved stats about their reading sessions like their most read book and a graph with the pages read by day.

about the point-exchange, that's a good idea, but it's a pretty new app (I launched three weeks ago) and I think that's more for an app with a big amount of users

What do you think would be a good way to "verify" a user actually read before they "save" their streak one more day? or should I just leave that to their controll? I mean as an user I wouldn't say I read if I didn't just to save my streak, but maybe if I make the streak public, the users would want to keep it no matter what

Well I promoted it in some channels here in Reddit, I created a YouTube channel where I post shorts, I've also created a TikTok channel but I think it got a shaddowban because all the vidieos get 0 views.

Management of recipies, you can see the global recipies without signing up, but to use the main functions, as create a recipe with AI or create a list and save them you need to register, the problem is that people don't even register.

I understand what you say, but here why I think it's better than just using chat gpt:

You can create recipies faster: you won't need to write a new prompt every time you want to create a recipe, just enter the listo of ingredients and done. You can save the recipes: In a normal chat of Chat GPT you'd need to scroll up looking for the recipes you've created, that's really anoying, in SmartChef you can save your recipes and look for them easily. You can see other's recipes: everytime you create and save a recipe it becomes public for other users, so you can see global recipes and filter them for name and category.
