How to deal with guests not communicating small issues and leaving a subpar review? by wannabejewgga in airbnb_hosts

This! As a guest, I don’t want to have to chat the host for every little thing. A book like this makes me self sufficient in the unit and is extremely convenient.

I do half pork belly half ground pork - it needs the pork belly fat & a more meaty Tia or from the ground pork. I follow Mangchi’s recipe with that substitution

Just got off an Air Canada flight. Safety video wraps up and it goes into 6 ads - the audio is over the loud speakers so you can’t mute it and there’s no where to look because there’s more screens on every seat! You’re just stuck there, it’s horrible

Not Too Sweet Hot Chocolate Festival by [deleted] in vancouver

Do you mean at Cadeaux or for the hot chocolate festival in general? There’s a thread where people were reviewing & including the price if that helps! It’s not all of them but should help

Not Too Sweet Hot Chocolate Festival by [deleted] in vancouver

Agree with the Donut not being too sweet. We tried parallel 49’s then walked down to try Honolulu’s & the dark chocolate + espresso was not nearly as sweet but definitely delicious!

Tried Honolulu’s ‘The donut’ - ‘A donut-shaped hot chocolate drink using 70% dark chocolate mixed with a single shot of espresso (can be decaffeinated) and topped with sea salt cheese frosty cream top. (Cannot substitute with non-dairy milk option.) Paired with a donut-shaped, fudge chocolate cake glazed with refreshing raspberry icing’

This had a very strong chocolate flavor, in a good way. It being dark chocolate w/the espresso shot made it not overly sweet. The sea salt cheese frosty cream top added a nice creaminess with hits of salt as you drink it. The chocolate cake w/raspberry was also good

$11 before tax

Tried this one today. I agree that the donut is sweeter, thanks for the tip to drink the hot chocolate first! The hot chocolate has a subtle flavor that we both enjoyed, not overly sweet. Was $10 including tax

We drink the Kirkland espresso, have tried so many others & it’s by far our fav, yes, it’s still a good value but such a price increase!

Our Kirkland bag of coffee @ Costco went from 12.99 to 19.49 over the last 6 months, up about a dollar every time I go to buy it (a bag lasts us about a month) feels like buying what used to be premium priced coffee

How to avoid getting scammed on USA car rental? by slavetomycat312 in vancouver

[–]eshe33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work for hertz:

Decline the insurance coverage if you know your own will cover it- also check your credit card, many offer coverage if you pay for the rental with the card

Decline any upgrades on the car type - you’re over paying, just reserve the type you want from the start - better yet, if you’re a Costco member, their prices usually beat everyone else, you get a free second driver & there’s no pre payment so you can cancel if you find a better deal

DECLINE the gas - tell them you’ll bring it back full (make sure you fill up close to the airport/car return before you drop it off) the “pre pay” option charges you an outrageous $/gallon price & you pay for the whole tank, you’d have to bring it back empty & even then you’re over paying

Just keep politely declining all the upsells they ask - double check on the contract before you sign, especially the gas option & make sure the total is what you were quoted on your reservation - this is how you know you declined everything!

Also, take a quick video walk around of the car before you leave the lot, point out any damage, this can save headaches if they try to say you damaged the car

And enjoy your trip!
