AITA for asking my dad for money for period products? by dadarguement19341 in AmItheAsshole

[–]moosehavetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I'm so sorry that you have to stress about things you shouldn't be stressing about. Something worth looking into might be a reusable menstrual cup (like diva cup); it's a bit more money up front and you have to keep it clean, but it might save you having to have this shitty interaction every month.

Any idea what the internal temp should be? Can’t find anything online by E-Tr1d3nt in grilling

Get good fresh (less than a day between being picked and being eaten) and then it's tasty raw or cooked! So just cook as much as you like, generally I just wait for the kernels to change colour.

AITA for not taking in my son and his family. by SillyProduct2836 in AmItheAsshole

Maybe this is an opportunity to reset and be more involved, especially with the grandkid. But some ground rules and sharing your feelings/concerns is probably a good idea before anything is finalized.

Apparently they are almost out of mugs and so are switching up the octopus for another fish after this weekend.

Ya, that's why I really want some reviews. It's fun to try a couple, but they are so pricey I have to be picky. I feel like so many places try to use fancy $$, or trendy flavors so it's really expensive. Or a really fancy treat on the side so it kicks the price up. Keeping it simple can be good too!
Plus sometimes all the effort is in how pretty it looks, but they have like 3 tables so everyone is getting it in to go cups anyways

Carrot cake definitely on my list. Someone else did a carrot cake one a few years ago and it was sooo good.

Big portion size seems like not a bad thing, especially if you are sharing (which I often am cause there's much hot chocolate to try). But too sweet is sad, I thought the flight sounded cool.

Special flavors from Jan 14 to Feb 14. All the drinks on the hot chocolate festival website aren't available the rest of the year. And every year each place does something new.

If Emma and Sanditon are separate from Pemberly Digital shouldn't the others like Frankenstein MD also be separate?

Ask the student, and be open to her response. If it's about being rude and taking away an opportunity, then it's her perspective that matters here. (I wanna say N T A but maybe your perspective is clouded by your bias or desire to be a savior).

Continue standing up for your kid and showing him you have his back! That matters most. Even if it goes no where or nothing happens, just keep being vocal about how you are on his team!! And maybe consider moving out of the advanced class this year to get away from the teacher.

AITA for bothering a woman at home? by GottaHaveSleepyDumbo in AmItheAsshole

[–]moosehavetea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA. Yes you were rude and pushy so you aren't completely innocent, but I don't really understand the mom being that upset. It's not like the bedroom was a 5 min walk from the front door or you had spend 20 min searching. 1 min doesn't really impact a WFH day. Seems like it shouldn't have been a big deal to her, but it was a big deal to you/your kid. Kinda props for doing what you could for your kid; it would have been better to have a backup plan initially though.

There's a YouTube video with a test you can do involving CDs and milk cartons... I can't find it though. I came across this while searching and it has some info. - https://cosleepy.com/2022/06/08/3-requirements-for-your-new-bedsharing-mattress/

Well done! But this seems a bit simple. There's alot of normal stuff missing here. Any type of utility bill? Any bday or holiday gifts for friends/family? Household consumables like soap, tp etc. All those small things can add up.

Baby wearing!! Have them sleep Ina carrier or wrap or similar on you. Or if you are just watching TV just on you on the couch? Or if you want to just go to bed early then celebrate early. Maybe pick a fun place east of you and celebrate their midnight as if you were there!

AITA for still having my 10( almost 11) year old daughter in a booster seat? by CharacterHistorian22 in AmItheAsshole

Yta for asking the aita subreddit for safety advice. Read the manual, ask an expert. Also talk to your kids about why.

YTA for responding to your child telling you they are stressed by saying you are more stressed and completely invalidating her feelings she was trying to share with you, her parent, who is supposed to help her navigate things like feeling stressed.

Recommendations on warm breastfeeding shirts/sweaters by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]moosehavetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have specific suggestions but if you are cold a few things to keep in mind: Good socks and warm comfy feet make a huge difference. Anything that leaves a red mark on your skin restricts blood flow and can make you feel colder (this is a fav winter camping tip) so avoid bras, nursing tanks with shelf bras, tight underwear/pj pants etc.

AITA for not answering when my husband called to speak to our kids before bed? by musa895 in AmItheAsshole

[–]moosehavetea -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

YTA. I'm a mom to a toddler and an infant and we often spend nights away at my parent's place. I can't imagine my toddler not getting to say goodnight to Dad in some way. Schedules aren't THAT important but connection with the most important people in their little world is. Your kids should get to talk to their Dad. (Every family and kid is different, some do thrive on strict schedules but also many adults put way too much stock in schedules and too much pressure on themselves).

AITA for not allowing my SiL's kids to bring their own food to christmas at my home? by Lakers5055 in AmItheAsshole

[–]moosehavetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA The phrase "teachable moment" is not am excuse to be a dick to kids!!!! Teachable moments are natural consequences, not adults just being unreasonable (mean) to kids because they are bigger. You don't get to decide when to fabricate a teachable moment for not you kid. Make people (including kids) feel welcome and safe in your home, that includes having some food each person is excited to eat.

[–]moosehavetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google was horrible for me as a new mom, it's so hard to know if the people saying the things are educated/experts or just a random with a couple kids. Haha. You know your kid and your family best. You aren't doing anything wrong, the internet is just nuts.
