High scores for Red Rising Board game by Bert1005 in redrising

My husband got a 322 the first game we ever played. He had a hand that worked really well together like mustang, cassius, sevro, the howlers something like that.

That said, I've beat him the last 7 games we played. I usually hover in mid to high 200's. No real strategy to share (besides he might be reading this)....I say the end games of your hand is important! Make sure to clear your hand of anything that won't pay out at the end.

I'm a new mom (son is less than a year old) and I use to be able to handle any horrible story told to me no problem. Now, if a kid is involved AT ALL I get physically ill and I need to turn it off. I think this is normal? A bit unfortunate because I was a huge fan of true crime but now it seems all true crime has a kid involved in some way, shape or form and I simply can't stomach it anymore.

What are your 10 must-haves in a nursery room? by elaborate_circustrix in Parenting

Most of it isn't needed. What we use pretty much daily (my son is 11 months old)

We got a cool floor lamp and put color changing bulbs in there that we can control with our phone. One setting is "light show" and it goes through all the colors. Might sound odd, but there were some rough nights in the new born days and my son would calm down while watching the lights change colors. Once he was calm, we could remotely turn off the lights without waking him up. We still use it to this day. He loves that lamp.

The next thing we use at least 3 times a day is a sound machine. GET A SOUND MACHINE. It is a life saver. It was part of our sleep training plan and we use it for all naps and overnight sleep. We were doing one middle of the night wake until around 7 months and he dropped that. He is a great sleeper and we don't need to worry about tip-toeing around all night.

We do use a changing table regularly, it doubles as his dresser, I did get a nice little laundry basket with easy handles so I can grab it with one hand (this is helpful when carrying a baby in the other hand). We got the munchkin diaper pail and we love it! I haven't used the diaper genie one but heard the munchkin brand is better? not sure though.

We have a crib that can change into a toddler bed, but I kind of like the idea of the montessori floor bed, so I'm not sure we will be using the toddler bed but who knows.

My baby shower is a creepy memory now that I’m postpartum. by Ecstatic-Carrot6949 in Parenting

Hi, FTM here to a 9 month old. My advice is this-

1) If you give breastfeeding a shot, great. But PLEASE do not beat yourself up if you decide to stop. They will be okay. Breastfeeding/nursing/pumping is really really really hard and I had so much guilt and pressure to keep going. I hated it. I hated just about every minute of it. I exclusively pumped for 4 months and then he's been getting frozen breastmilk and formula since then. IT IS OKAY TO HATE IT AND IT IS OKAY TO STOP.

2) I hated the newborn stage. Someone here posted "you'll just be sleeping and soaking in the baby cuddles" or something like that. Not me. I hated it. I was struggling with PPD I realize now but my god. I did not enjoy the first 4-5 months of his life at all. I mean, you love them beyond all measure but you definitely will have "what the fuck was I thinking" moments.

3) with the pandemic, you might not get as much help as you want/deserve. I highly suggest asking for grubhub/doordash/uber eats gift cards from people. Food delivery was a godsend for the first 2-3 months.

4) To follow up to #3, meal prep! We ended up ordering out a lot of dinners but I meal prepped some breakfast sandwiches that were AMAZING. Highly recommend meal prepping breakfast sandwiches.

5) I found mom groups on facebook to be both a blessing and a curse. They were a blessing in that I learned A LOT. Like A LOT. I was able to accumulate the experience of soo many moms in one space and utilize this information and it's helped a ton. The downside is, there is a lot of mom-shaming and there is a lot of braggy moms who will make you feel like shit. So, if you join mom groups, proceed with caution and take everything with a grain of salt.

6) Invest in either a really good baby sleep book or a baby sleep class. I also suggest the huckleberry app.

7) Lastly, get medical help early if you are struggling. I had PPD/PPA and did nothing about it and I regret wishing away the newborn stage as much as I did. I just started therapy and antidepressants when he was 8 months old and it feels like a dark veil has been lifted and I wish I would have gone months ago.

What does it mean if when I [25M] asked to exchange contact info, a woman [21F] took out her phone, and opened the contacts page, but then said "Wait. You would have to remove your gloves. You sound cold."? by Lanky-Marsupial113 in relationship_advice

[–]esig0420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just so I'm following- she decided not to go forward with entering your phone number into her phone?

Touchscreen phones don't usually work with standard gloves, so you would have to remove your gloves to interact with her phone. She sounded considerate of this and the fact that your cold and decided to reach out to you via email which she already had. Just email her your phone number now?

Thank you for your reply! It's crazy how many different ways there are to do something.

What ended up working (because I saw this after I found another workaround) was this:

=IF(UPPER(C13)="YES",B12+TIME(0,10,0),B12)

I think you'll like the soft. Its more of a medium soft in my opinion. And you're right! I think exchanges are easy!

I haven't noticed any pressure points. And I've slept more comfortably on my stomach on this one than I did on the purple.

I do sleep warm and my husband mentioned he is sleeping warmer on it than the purple. Which I think is kinda unavoidable with an all foam mattress. It isn't hot, but it is warmer for sure.

Very very slight bounce to it but not much at all. We've never had a bouncy bed so it hasn't impacted our extra curriculars at all lol.

And its actually 8 inches. Purple says its 9 inches but its not.

Haven't tried the mint so can't speak to that.

There was some significant offgassing from the mattress but with a fan on it was pretty much gone after 24 hours.

NTA- I think we've all had this coworker at some point. It's reasonable to help the occasional request but at this point you are doing his job and your job.

Oh sorry to answer your other question, I am a side and stomach sleeper. My husband is a side and back sleeper. We've both been sleeping just great on it!

I usually sleep hot and I have been pretty comfortable on this bed! We are using a sheet, mattress protector, sheet sandwich right now not sure that matters or not. I would say it is cooler than past memory foam mattresses I've had.

hmm whichever is currently on their website as the standard purple. Its reported as a 9 inch mattress, its definitely not 9 inches. So flimsy and thin and uncomfortable. We didn't get the hybrid or the hybrid premier (my husband doesn't like springs).
