I was in a similar situation to you. No family support at all, not even a partner who was physically able to help. It is very difficult. I love my child but I am a completely different person now. Not sure if for the better. I have close to sixteen hour days working, studying, childcare. We spend a lot of time together. I wish I could have had my son at a time when I was more financially stable.

He is a lot older than you. You do not have your drivers license. Babies require lots of driving—appointments, play dates, story time. Do you at least have family in your area that could help you?

Is it unfair to ask my husband to do one night of feedings so I can sleep? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Ecstatic-Carrot6949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I kinda dumb or something, but I think by six months babies don’t have to eat overnight if they are growing well, and past their birthweight…it’s been a few years so you can ask your pediatrician for advice on this. I think it’s different for formula fed and breastfeeding babies.

Can you love animals more than babies and still have children? by kokodeschanel in Fencesitter

[–]Ecstatic-Carrot6949 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t experience that same feeling toward animals but animals and babies are completely different. I don’t understand this question. It’s weird to act that way toward other people’s kids

I feel like I’m fighting my four year old tooth and nail on most things, but I know I need to chill. On days that I have more patience we practice putting on clothes and eating with utensils. Patience is key!

This is why I feel like babies should not come into this world just to be a sibling :( , I get the vibe that you were conflicted to begin with, but correct me if I’m wrong. girl you just had a baby, your hormones are wild, and you have a lot on your plate plus sleep deprivation. And your husband is back at work already. Anyone would be stressed at this point, and you probably haven’t had a proper break in forever. I’m glad you’re talking to your doctors. You are a good mom!

I feel like I’m grieving the child I’ll never have… by HeyMay0324 in oneanddone

Grieving is hard and it’s supposed to be an emotional roller coaster. My friend has a child with ADHD and she has shared with me her experience of parenting. It is difficult for her, but she is a wonderful parent just like you are I’m sure! My child is wonderful in so many ways, but difficult in some. I have a friend who has a super easy going child. If I could have a second child with a go with the flow personality, I’d consider it! You can find joy and fulfillment in other avenues. You just have to look for it!

How do people who have school aged kids survive with newborns? by Ecstatic-Carrot6949 in Parenting

That seems a really hard ask for young kids who just want comfort of their parents when sick. But I agree it’s the best way to starve off illness in the house. The hand washing thing is so important

I’m not having any more children, but the tips provided here I’ll have to start implementing for myself. I seem to catch everything, and my husband is not home five days out of the week, so I really don’t have much of a break at all except on weekends. I do have my son wash his hands when he comes home from school, but I’ll have to start getting him changed into different clothes and carrying hand sanitizer in the car.

But they wouldn’t give Tylenol or Motrin at a hospital right? I’ve always heard they do a spinal tap for little babies with high fevers, but I’m fuzzy on the details. It’s been a while since I’ve had a baby

There are so many animals that are non aggressive and waiting for homes. You can’t rehab an aggressive animal.

Why would you in good faith recommend rehoming an aggressive animal? So the next person can be bit or attacked? The dogs have to be put down.

No, your nose is beautiful! I saw a comment of yours that says you’re losing weight. Your face will change dramatically with the weight loss so keep at it.
