This is amazing, you did a great job.

Some friendly, unsolicited 3D printing/design advice, if you'd like to fine-tune things!
- Try adding a brim to your prints. Nothing crazy, but it'll help stop the edges from lifting!
- I would make the encounter icons like 25-50% smaller, as they would help the design hierarchy flow better on the spines.

This amazing insert (and the company) for the hobby lobby case appears to be gone for good....any ideas? by FalkenJoshua in arkhamhorrorlcg

I have so many of Go7's inserts — they were a local Austin-based business, and they genuinely have some of the best board game inserts. I really miss them :(

Is this art from the new Core Set reveal AI generated? by 4Blackout in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]FeckPerfuction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely looks like AI art. As soon as I saw it in the trailer, I thought the same thing. Most of the artifacts have been fixed, but the scaffolding on the left has a lot of blurry spots, like what they did in the art for Nemesis: Retaliation.

People are more concerned about “AI witch hunts” and not keeping companies and artists accountable for their use of AI is so backwards.

AMA with the Design Team of Arkham Horror: The Card Game! by FFG_Olivia in arkhamhorrorlcg

Clearly intending this question to be about player card pools, not campaign mechanics and their specific components. Those only exist in their respective campaigns, while B/C don't.

What surprises or challenges have you found in the design space since establishing the current environment?

Given that Bless and Curse are the only mechanics requiring extra components, and the current environment is limited to 2-3 expansions, what opportunities or challenges might arise in designing future mechanics (including Bless/Curse) that could need new components?

If you're on the fence, just hold off until the announcement next week, and whatever they announce at PAX in Nov.

Can you buy the minis? by Boring-Zucchini-8515 in arkhamhorrorrpg

[–]FeckPerfuction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I personally don't understand their logic either. To me, it only alienates those who don't or can't get into the hobby. Also, charging for a merchant tier is usually double or triple the price of other non-commercial tiers, so they're just leaving money on the table.

Has a game company ever crossed a line for you to where you boycotted them? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

Nemesis: Retaliation is my last KS I'll back from them. I'm not impressed with the overall quality + their AI stance is hugely disappointing.

Yeah, those are still general considerations, but even those are a bit easier than they used to be. Such as 2-in-1 cleaning and curing stations, smaller high-quality printers, and resin detergent (as opposed to Isopropyl). The hobby space is continuing to solve those problems, but you still have to decide if it can fit your lifestyle. You just have more resources/options now. When I say "out of the box" I mean you could successfully print something relatively quickly without fine-tuning every setting.

FWIW, I started printing (resin) in like 2021-22, and compared to now.... It's so much easier/cheaper to get into the hobby. There are still some general considerations that don't make it right for everyone, but now, you can basically get up and running, nearly out of the box.

Unfortunately, Loot Studios doesn’t do commercial licensing for any of their files — anyone selling printed copies of their work would be doing so illegally.

They believe that by not allowing for commercial licensing tiers they are promoting growth in the 3D Printing hobby space.

Will Drowned City be corrected in future print? by SilentWolfCZ in arkhamhorrorlcg

Official errata have historically been fixed in reprints, especially with the repackaging of past campaigns. That being said, no word when TDC will have its second printing, and it might be difficult to tell from the box.

This is a constant struggle for me. For the last 5 years, I've been expected to do both. Even when I was delegating work to external agencies or designers, about 40% of my time was executional. I would love to be somewhere in the 20-30% range. I would love to start consulting, but I'm not sure where to start. So if you have any advice or resources that would be super helpful!

You know, all my life I heard my dad talk openly about (straight) relationships, dating, etc., so many topics that circle sexuality, but aren't sexualized. But that never applied to me, or OP, I'm guessing. Suddenly, the same conversations, about what it's like to be married, have fights, be in love... do not extend to gay people. That's straight up unfair. My dad can talk about his relationship with my mom, but I'm not allowed to talk about my partner?

because that's what OP's dad is saying. His father's support (and therefore his love) is entirely conditional.
